It sounded really good when you were talking about it last night so yea looking forward to trying but my key still isn’t working and no reply to my ticket yet either.

By the way, is PS2 worth a go? I’ve just got back into BF4 but there aren’t too many familiar faces playing so I’m often on my billy which makes squadplay a bit difficult. What’s PS2 like if you’re playing solo?

I’ll have to see if bf42 is even possible once work dies down a bit because with the gamespy shutdown not long ago it might be difficult to get a server. I think paddy and I looked into a while ago and saw a possible solution though so if it’s on the cards I’ll let you know, you are of course more than welcome to join us, as is anyone else from the rats (I’ll probably mention it to Milo and Bluesnake via steam if we’re doing it too).
Solo in PS2 is different from BF4 and that is probably what makes it so difficult for a lot of people to get into it, however I played it solo for ages before this lot around here were finally got into it, so I can certainly help you with that. The game excels in a squad though, even with just two people, so long as you’re reasonably good at shooters. It also kinda depends on you a bit because different people like different things in the game. To take myself as an example in all the BF games my favourite moments were the times you’d turn up at a flag and kill a squad solo, or defend against several waves, or just taking out that tiger tank who had me cornered in BF42 (good times :)), so in PS2 my playstyle is based on that, and I’ll just look for fights where I can take on several people at once. On the other hand there are lots of solo players in the game who just like to turn up at a massive fight and rake in the kills, without often much thought for the objective. I like a mix of both, and it’s even better with an XDC squad just trying to compete for an objective against as many people as we can take on 🙂 If you’re interested just shout on steam (I think you’re still on my steam list) and I’ll show you around the game and help you through the initial learning curve. Na I decided to get fit, lose weight etc over the summer so started cycling to work. First night coming home after first day in office and I think a joint in the frame failed and sent me flying onto my elbow, at full speed 🙂 That was in early July and still don’t have full use of it yet.

Just wanted to say congrats on hitting such a huge milestone. I remember you guys from back in the 1942 days and obviously more recently played quite a lot with you on BF3/BF4. Glad to see you’re still going strong 16 years later.

Maybe Occa, but I’m still recovering from a broken arm and it’s still quite painful for me in fps games. Come end of October though I should be much better.

It was only £26.40 for the year though so I’m probably ok for it, barring for some student funding crisis come Christmas or Easter 🙂
Right TS is currently down but there should be an update coming in the next hour for anyone checking here in that time. I tried to renew this over the weekend but my card was being blocked by my bank as an apparent security check, since fraudsters hire a lot of TS3 servers.
Just a heads up to check here if you can’t get on TS in a few days time. It is normally cheaper to get a new TS package than renew with multiplayer, plus I may go for another supplier, so our ip may change in the coming days.
I spent most of my day in work today working on a spreadsheet which attempted to calculate the most efficient way to approach this game. I have to say it was quite a lot more interesting than what I should’ve been doing, as well as educational in terms of how to use excel.
