Participantlol cheers Stan. love the story – a very vivid account of what its like surfing in big waves and being pummeled by them 🙂 Staying calm under water probably saved your life… if you struggle and try and swim for the surface to early you just end up using all your oxygen with nothing to show for it. Ive had a few near drownings myself… but usually its over so quick you just get over it… the worst thing about yesterday was the huge amount of time i had to think of my impending doom… slowly shivering to death in the dark. 🙄
Sounds nasty though – plenty of people in wheelchairs from being piledriven into sand by big waves – you are a lucky man.

ParticipantWow rolled 4 times? What kind of car was that? (Im guessing a 4 wheel drive as those are notorious for rolling when the conditions are right.)
Ive never had an RTA – but could imagine it would make your driving pretty unsettled for long time afterwards.

I would have read 1984, but I’m not really into historical dramas.
It started out as sci-fi, does that help? 😀
Sorry Stan, just stealing somebody else’s joke about the comic ‘2000AD’. 🙂
I’ve seen the movie Brazil (one of my faves) so I’ll stick with that version of 1984. 😉
Neon is spot on re Brazil… absolute genius… cult classic.

ParticipantSuperb book – agree 100% Should be required reading for all school kids. The most amusing part for me is his ‘crazeee’ vision of a nightmarish surveillance society.
