ill come. Newcastle meet was a good laugh. Id love to go paintballing actually – not done it in years. Too many people come up with lame excuses when things like this are mooted though.

Anyways…. thanks for that link WET – didnt really help, but worth a try. Solved a major issue 5 mins ago though – found that the reason games/ music were stuttering every couple of minutes was an issue with windows zero config serrvice running in the background.
Now… this is why I hate PC’s. Its taken tech savvy me 3 days to unearth this very important nugget of information. How the heck does your average man on the street work his home PC? They are so fucking unreliable and un user friendly. Grrrrr.
Anyway – I now have a wifi speed of 270MBPs…. sweet 🙂 Seems pretty solid at the moment.
Only weirdness now is…. I cant log onto XDC in firefox??? I put in my details and it just takes me to the public forum screen like it didnt notice? WTF? In IE I can log in but it refuses to remember my password even when asked. Anyone able to enlighten me on this loveable little PC quirk?
yeah that whole driver thing pissed me off – though the mouse is quite nice to use once that polling issue was rectified.

I did a lot of shopping around for custom built PC’s – if you want it ready built get a quote for the same stuff on..

I found them a lot cheaper than Scan for my rig anyway. Quick service, good info on the order process and everything worked out of the box.
I wouldnt bother with the X-fi extreme fatality editions with the x-ram – it wont give you much boost over a cheaper x-fi from what I can tell.. strictly for peeps who wanna cream over Wendels product endorsement methinks.
Go for neons suggestion of having a small raptor high speed disk and 1 big storage disk behind it. one for the OS and one for everything else. I did and I think it rocks!
Core duos overclock easily – I personally dont see any utility in trying to buy bleeding edge processors with their vastly inflated prices – why not go down a model or two? Would you really notice the fps going down? i dont think so. Especially not with a wee overclock.
The only monitor worth thinking of is the 24″Dell – thanks to Insane and Phart for persuading me to get that one….. I swear you wont regret it. Shop around and you should get it less than 500 quid.
Hah – it does appeal to me as a sort of WOW lite… similar concepts and carrot/stick approach to making you want to level up… but none of the life sucking time wasting implications that WOW seems to cause.
I know fine well if I got into WOW my life would be screwed time wise… so like a sensible addict Im staying well clear. At least Oblivion gets boroing after a few weeks and you can tear yourself away. A dynamic ever changing world? Thats scary.
