From my own experiences
1.) Never voulenteer for anything, you will be “voulenteered” later
2.) Get a lomg chain & padlock to lock your socks, jocks and other washing to the line, else it will be nicked and you will be pn parade “undressed” and get a fuck-up / beasting fro the PTi/RSM/Cpl
3.) Never ever screw your buddies, you will need them throughout your career
4.) Switch on, and I really mean it, never ever switch off
5.) Never ever leave your rifle unattended
6.) When you go for a shit on an op, take a buddy with you to look out while your pants are down.
7.) Speaking of shit, keep a ready supply of bogroll, you can never have enough, espescially in the boonies, an infected arse from using leaves/sand is not funny at all
8.) Share everything with your buddies, they will share with you in return
9.) Pull your weight, or you will deservedly get a “Blanket Parade” – al la full metal jacket
10.) Keep a supply of cumdums, not only for galloping tarts, but they are usfull for keepingf shit out of your rifle, smokes dry etc etc
11.) Do not use Brasso on your eating utensils when prepping them for inspection, you will shit yourself if you do.
12.) Sleep whenever you can, you will not get much opportunity
13.) Eat when you can, you do not know when the next chow train is comming
14.) Keep water discipline
15.) Bury your shit when in the boonies
16.) Do not piss into a river upstream of where you get your drinking water when in the boonies.
17.) The most important part of your rifle to keep clean is the magazine, that is where most stoppages occur. Keep 3 less round than full capacity, empty the mags weekly and stretch the springs.
18.) Do not tape mags together like the movies, it makes the rifle unweildy and prevents you lying prone properly, also the bottom mag gets shit in it and will jam
19.) Avoid the curried fish in the rat-packs, they will give you the galloping trots
20.) Did I mention bogrol? Its is worth more than gold
21.) On ops, do not drive in the fucking road, thats where the floppies/gooks put their shit
22.) Never enter a TB from the same direction you left
23.) Never setup a TB where you where at last light, eat, then move to another position when it is darkBoys, give Leggy a break, he has acted like a twat since BF Space Cadets first came out, but has been better of late, plus he has played in a better spirit in4 2 and Nam

So a quick question? Picked up a G7 mouse the other day upgraded from the MX900 (well I’ve gotta spend my hard earned money on something right?) And what I’ve noticed is that ingame you can change the dpi between 3 settings. My question is, is this cheating? Example: When I’m in a gun turret I can put it to the 1st setting which will allow me to rotate the turret quicker than normal. The 2nd setting is great for normal soldier play, and the 3rd for sniping.
What do you lot think? Anyone else have the same mouse?

I use a G5 that has the same functionality and use it in-game, great for tanks, but do not use th slow mode for sniping as it is too slow

I was thinking thats its a far better game than I ever thought it would be, and i’m enjoying it much more than BF2. It has to one of the most balanced of the BF games and i rank it up there with BFV.
Shame about the CTDs though.
Nahhh Wipey, I am enjoying 2142 a bit, but I am finding it repetative and boring, less tactics, more spray & pray. The maps are far too similar. The game has potential, but lacks polish. And I must say I rather look forward to playing some of the old BF games for a change.
But what I am really looking forward to is something like OFP2 or AA becuse they require a bit more thinking and bit less reflexes.
If they provide some better maps 2142 will be a good game, but things like Titan mode get tedious
