Do you think MECs would actually be beneficial in a war zone?

Theres a lot of focus from the Japanese on them, imho the BF2142 MECs look a little more believeable, the large scale city stompers from Japan would just be a visual threat and nothing else, easy to take down via airstirke or spec forces, but the physics of such a giant machine… fuck.. imagine if you were a driver and crashed it, “thats a 60 billion dollar MEC you just pronged Cunningham!
