Suspect it is a combo of my BBand (ISP in Manchester, route there from London then out to the web) and my wireless (wife always watching web vids plus flakey wifi).

Laptop is a Sony Viao VPC F12 Z1E
CPU: Intel core i7 Q74 @ 1.75ghz (Quad Core)
8gb RAM

check pingtest for packet loss, I’ve found that any Iplayer/4od/youtube video results in packet loss. Thank god my housemates have all got girlfriends now, volume of porn watching has decreased and my internet has become more stable as a result!

Pharty I’d recommend plenty of memory. I think all in all that made the biggest difference for me with regards to performance. I already had 4 but upgraded to 8. In fairness my new G card has 2 gig of memory also so I cant really use the lag excuse anymore.

yeah ive seen reviews that say at high res 2gb on the gfx card make a load of difference.

Then perhaps its the wifi setup but I cant help you much with that… or anything for that matter 😉
