I agree with Doc, a fast loading OS is only a good thing.. and I used Raptors in the past just for OS so an SSD makes sense.
Wolf said you can cache the games so it will load much faster with rapid response too.. I’m deffo getting SSD, its only £80 for a 64gb one will will suffice for OS, I’ll run the games on a seperate drive as recommended
Also my boss who is shit hot got one when they first arrived for his laptop, I trust his judgement, he’s an human encyclopedia
I’ve no doubt SSD’s give a boost, but I don’t need it. Back in the day playing bf1942 I could roll and smoke a joint during the startup, and if that was the case now then fair enough, but these days I can’t even finish a piss in the time it takes to load a game. I’m in before the startup timer has finished, and that’s all that matters.

So I installed the game but tried to activate (via Origin), was then told it couldn’t because the date it’s live is the 28th.
Then, I put the proxy details in and it did activate. I then changed the proxy details back, it loaded up Battle Log, tried to join a game, but eash time BF then came up saying it’s crashed.
So my question is this – Is this happeneing because I tried to activate first of all via Origin without the proxy stuff? Or that that not make a difference as it did work once I did make the change? I have no idea if the game will start working on the 28th? I tend to think not as it just crashes?thanks all.
🙁 Just had a quick check and it might be my graphics card can’t play it which seems messed up as the bete worked 🙁 HD5650 Radeon ATI. Anyone able to advise?

I removed all AV software but still no luck. It looks like I should be able to play. I went on systemrequirementslab.com and that gave me the thumbs up. Still get that error message when trying to load.
I didn’t quite catch you this evening on how this went for you when you did eventually get on the server. Any improvement?

It did work but, hmm bit dodgy to play. Might have to accept no BF3 play till I get a new PC 🙁 Will try some other things tonight like divvy up some space for a partition? Tempted to look at a new PC next month but will see. Thanks for the help.
As for Newcastle, to be honest I think we continue to show great spirit, 2 goals in the 90th to take it to ET. Considering pre-season I wasn’t even sure we would stay up I don’t see the bad side of being beat my Blackburn.
