Well I had all this money burning a hole in my pocket so Im spending it like a sheik in a camel shop.
Was a bit dissapointed as the one I wanted and had reserved they managed to lose but you were only paying for an extra 50hz of overclock which I can potentially do with this one. Anyway ladies and gentlemen I give you :
Tis the current meat and two chunky potatoes of Graphics cards. For those who dont know it’s two 512mb GFX cards stuck together to fit in one pcie slot therefore in theory with Sli (and im still waiting for the quad boards) it would be like running four GFX cards in one machine.
So as you can guess everything is cranked up to 11 8)
If andy and Lis can post pictures of their new baby then so can I 😉July 25, 2006 at 8:58 pm #30779XDC-snellParticipantBugger me 😯

lol – bastard!
To be fair to spunker… if you always wait for the next thing round the corner you will never buy anything 🙂
I see NVidia are refusing to let normal users set up quad SLI with these things though… only alienware/voodoodell etc are being given any support for it…. I wonder why! ❓ ❓ 💡 👿 👿 🙄

yup…nice dinosaur in a few months. bollox! well i may just put it back in its box and wait till they come up with a better solution. Ive got time to return it and wait till them nbastards do a dx10 compatible card. Lets just say Ive been product testing for the week and its not too bad.. but SHIT…thanks for the heads up D. funny i never read any info on that as its the last thing i would expect from the latest nvidia cards but..hey ho..as I said …back in the box it goes…lol
As for the quad boards Doc . its just a monopoly ploy to increase market sales of those complete systems all these companies with lots of money rub each others backs (eg type “Hearst, anslinger and dupont” in google as an interesting example tho not related ). The motherboards themselves will show up in a few months 😉July 26, 2006 at 12:30 pm #30791XDC-snellParticipantOh and AMD have purchased ATI http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5210276.stm

Interestingly (well, if you’re a geek) industry pundits are saying that in a couple of years AMD and Intel are going to start producing CPUs that have integrated graphics functions as good as, or better than anything a seperate card can do. Intel are working on this in-house, while AMD have merged with ATi.

x86 is about to take the biggest left turn since the 286 -> 386 transition, and GPU-like functionality will be the key.
