Dynamic ads are coming to EA games. Guess which game will be the first to feature them?

ParticipantOh for fucks sake…
And whats the betting you won’t be able to skip or disable the ads? 🙄

Participanttheres a billboard in the centre of Verdun map, fuck knows what it says on it, never really looked, I knew it would only be a matter of time before those billboards had ‘pepsi’ or ‘cannon’ on them.
it’s lame, but as long as it is environment advertising not pop-ups I dont mind.

ParticipantThey rake it in from advertisers, yet the games will still cost £40 and a pound of flesh to buy. Fucking fuckers, fuck them all. 😡

ParticipantEA bends us over and fucks us again.
Ok, they wanna put wank ad’s in a game, how about knocking 10 quid off the game and actually bother to release a bug free working game.
i bet you don’t see them doing that in a hurry. 👿

Participanttbh they have been doing it for ages. need for speed, fight night, all have had advertising from companies like burger king etc
all this new deal does i think is provide a system whereby this sign spaces in game can be replaces by other adverts by a third party program built into the title. at least thats how i think this will work

Participantif the adverts are where they would be in the real world and don’t get in the way of the game then it adds to realism so i can live with it
They can advertise for whoever as long as they finish the game before releasing it

ParticipantI wonder if competitors can place adverts in EA games? Picture this:
You’re blasting away in Medal of Honor, when suddenly you notice a billboard saying “Fed up with unfinished games? Buy Call-of-Duty Today!!”
Hippo’s right – static advertising has been around for ages, and not just in EA games. Now you just have to accept the extra cost that downloading adds every round, and also the extra bandwidth to send back metrics of what you looked at for how long.
I wonder how long before the advert mechanism is hacked. Imagine the temptation to hackers to stick their own notices up in the games – this is the perfect playground for them.

Participantcould see it coming with BF2 with the billboards featuring that EA fella selling ice-cream and in operation harvest with the billboards advertising BF2142. I don’t really mind as long as the ads don’t cause lag issues…..though a tenner off the asking price is always nice 😉

ParticipantIf this is set in 2142 the world is cvered in ice, we are all fighting over a place to live.
The advertising execitive wouild be one of the first of the useless members of sociatly to be given a gun and sentout to do something usefull for once 🙄 -
