Participantwow, i used the search function to see if this hasd been posted……………..insane wil be so proud!!! 8)
ok the film, well its best summed up with someone elses description as i can’t be arsed to write the same thing they have so……here it is:-
@by some random chap called slider or summat on imdb.com wrote:
The purpose of the program set up by the Pentagon, called the “Human Hibernation Project,” is designed so that the military can save their best men for when they’re needed most. According to the officers heading the project, too many times the talents and expensive training of the best pilots and soldiers go to waste during times of peace. So they enlist Bauers (Wilson), the most under-achieving average guy they’ve got, to be the test subject for the initial hibernation experiment. Also participating in the top-secret program is Rita (Rudolph), a prostitute who agreed to take part in exchange for dropping some criminal charges against her, among other things. Of course, the experiment, which was to last only a year, goes under due to the arrest of Officer Collins, who is busted for heading a prostitution ring. Seeing as though he was in charge of the experiment, one of the only ones who knew of its existence, and “due to a lot of top-secret red tape… and the massive scandals and base closure that followed, Joe and Rita were forgotten about.

its pretty good, had some good laugh out loud moments and it kinda gets you thinking albeit for a short while until the next laugh about where we are actually gonna be in 500 years as the premise for this film isn’t too far removed from reality; professional people are putting off having families until they find themselves in a position of security, both financial and personal and may eventually have 1 or 2 kids where as your professional dole-ites are generally “encouraged” by the welfare system to have more children as that leads to more benefits, bigger homes etc……do the math peeps, it could happen 😉
anyhows, i’m off the high horse again and i’ll give this 7.5/10

ParticipantI enjoyed this a lot. It’s by Mike Judge (King of the Hill / Beavis and Butthead). The studio completely stiffed him on promotion (they didn’t promote it) apparently because he slagged off real companies so that’s why you may not have heard of it.

Made me laugh like an idiot. “Ow my Balls” would fit in on Channel 4. Ironically considering the subject matter, you spelt the title wrong WET 😉

ParticipantNice one WET, this sounds like my type of film. I’ll keep an eye out for it.

ParticipantWanted to see this for a while and finally got around to watching it with my seriously unimpressed wife.
The premise is good and Mike Judge has made a good movie or two in the past, but this one didn’t quite hit the mark. It works as satire, but needed to be a bit more caustic about the future and how we wound up in such a stupid world.
One example is that the hero ‘talks like a fag’ since he doesn’t grunt, use slang of try to be cool everytime he opens his mouth, just as anybody who reads is also clearly gay. So the future is homophobic, but it’s not racist (the President’s black) which I thought would have made it much more menacing rather than just ‘goofy’.
Nice film with good ideas that wasn’t particularly funny, but was kind of a fun scifi idea. Think planet of the Apes meets Dumb and Dumber.
6.5/10 From me
2/10 From the wife
