Hi guys
Just a query, I currently don’t have any Anti-virus software because AVG decided to cancel their free edition protection -_- So I was wondering what you would recommend?
I’m nearly clueless about find good software and usually screw it up so can you help?
Thanks

July 31, 2008 at 12:17 pm #68727XDCiNSANEParticipantaye if I’m honest.. I’ve never had one as long as I can rememeber (well over 5 years).. I only recently put it on when G/F started using my PC 🙂
July 31, 2008 at 8:11 pm #68728XDCJuDgE-MenTaLParticipantyea don’t really need it unless your into opening random .exe files or downloading dodgy stuff. Personally I’d rather not chance it though(coz I d/l dodgy stuff and can ‘right click scan’ it before I open it and it’s saved me a few times) had viruses in the past and they proper fk up your machine and bring it to it’s knees…never had it be unfixable but it eats into game time way too much.
I’ve got NOD32 which uses next to nothing in system resources and is very maintenance free, just not actually free (unless you know where to look…cough*rslinks.org*cough :)). Kapersky is pretty good too I hear just avoid anything Norton and McAfee as they are big fat system whores.August 17, 2008 at 10:24 pm #68729BakuraVampireParticipantThanks guys, I checked those out but I’m not sure about them ^^; (Smite me if you will)
Can I ask for some links? It’ll make things a lot easier for me (Yeah, I’m that incompetant)

Used to use Avast coz it was free, then changed to Kaspersky, never looked back! Think it only cost £7 or summat, then when me year was up i just bought another key from t’ebay (just a couple of quid, well i tried a few*cough* other keys but they just get blacklisted real quick) were talkin bout a tenner for 2 years!
But if you insist on being a tight wad 😉 i thought Avast was ok!
August 19, 2008 at 6:53 am #68734XDCiNSANEParticipantpfft.. tight.. its all about knowing how to use the internet, this knowledge results in not having to pay 🙂
April 25, 2009 at 8:46 pm #68735tessParticipantAvast! is free and runs quietly in the bacground. i was quite happily using it till work insisted I install Symantec 🙁
