Hi guys
Been working on a new design for the XDC website, let me know what you think, I am open to suggestions, criticisms any comments really.
If anyone feels like making alterations, or additions please feel free.
Thanks

But yeah, pretty simple and stylish.
May 24, 2010 at 8:46 am #76347AlzirKeymasterBefore you put too much work into this Steve, I’ve been thinking recently about revamping the front end of the site since it’s irritating me, and the main change I’d like to make is in integrating the forum with the frontpage (similar to how the rats have their site). If you can find a template which will allow that easily, as well as including the standard links to XDC introductions etc, then you’ll be onto a winner. Also regarding the look, I’m thinking about moving away from the comic light hearted style we’ve tried (and failed) to put in place, since I just don’t think any of us are artistically gifted enough to pull it off. If you can manage it, go for it, but I’m edging towards using a slicker and more professional looking template for the site in future.
Oh and as funny as it is, I don’t want to use the flash animation for any new site we put together, as it’s just too eye catching when I’m trying to keep a low profile checking the forums from work.

Matt, I was actually looking into creating a complete new site using a php framework, and coding it all myself, including the forums, so getting a consistent look across all parts of the site will not be a problem.
I dont mind trying to do a slicker more professional site, do you have any examples from the web that you find particularly good? But in the past I always thought you wanted a Wabbit 😯
Is Jonny still around? He does good design work, then I could concentrate on the coding, as its what i,m best at anyway.
Oh and Magicker what version of PHP do I have to code for?

May 24, 2010 at 10:03 pm #76350xdc magickerParticipanti was going to suggest we move away from teh wabbit…
i just got an invoice from corbis as one of my customers used a 1cm by 1cm image on their site.. they demanded 900 quid!!!
so perhaps if we can stay away from images we dont own :0

If we do need to re jig things then Johnny needs to get involved for sure.

Anyone else having this prob?
