ParticipantOk, my wife has very kindly put together a cool airsoft event for a few of me mates back home, and was wondering on purchasing a cool Airsoft gun, whats your recommendations?
Was thinking of this:
Overview:
The Tokyo Marui fully automatic airsoft electric gun (AEG) AK47 comes in two forms – the collapsible stock (that folds underneath the rifle), and the fixed stock (which has the advantage of having a larger battery housed in the stock). Both AEGs have a long barrel, putting them at an advantage when fighting at range. Like the real AK47s, these are easy to use, durable, and have a large number of very good conversion kits available.Pros:
Basic design; accurate; large battery (fixed); variety of interesting conversion kits.Performance boosters.
Full internal upgrade (£125, inclusive of engineer’s fee) – will increase power to 328 feet per second. High grade barrel (£50-60) – will improve accuracy at rangeConclusion.
The AK47 makes a fine alternative to the Armalite series that tends to dominate airsoft. The gun is durable both internally and externally, has a good rate of fire, and due to the long barrel, has a good long-range accuracy. One of the greatest points of this particular AEG is the wide range of interesting conversion kits available for it, such as the RPK (good for a support role), and the Dragunov SVD (sniper rifle). In total, the AK47 provides good performance and reliability with attractive aesthetic qualities, and the potential for owning a very unique and distinctive AEG with use of a conversion kit.Tokyo Marui Airsoft Electric Rifle (AEG)
firing mode: semi/full automatic mag capacity: 70rnds (250 & 600 hicap optional)
velocity:approx. 285fps weight: approx 2900g
hop up: yes (adjustable) battery: large
motor:EG700£164

ParticipantEither ask McQueen or DMC
Or… the rats, there are lots of airsoft people there – and Felix sells them, so you could pick up a cheap one.

ParticipantRemind me not to play airsoft around Mad “Headshot” Max, especially if he gats his hands on an AK74 or M16A2! It’ll be like Karki all over again.
McQueen and DMC are the daddies when it come the XDC airsoft contingent, but an old buddy of mine plays for a team called the Bushpigs. He strongly recommends this as a starter gun:
It’s £40 (plus an extortionate ammount of P&P), but you can combine postage if enough of you want one. I know it’s more Spec Ops, and not so Medic, but teh review on the page speak volumes. Plus, there’s loads of accessories for it (extra mags, sights, extended barrels etc)

Is airsoft like paintballing?June 17, 2007 at 4:35 pm #53710Beer_Monster
Participantnaw ,you can wear T-shirt and shades to play airsoft.
It was a good laugh the one time i played it. We should get a day organised in the midlands somewhere during the summer, seeing as the 30th bash seems to have fallen on it’s arse.
