Beta Testing for the Battlefield 2142 1.10 update begins.
Greetings,
We continue our march into the Christmas holiday with more and more happening in the Battlefield Universe. This week we will begin public Beta Testing of the 1.10 update. In this update we are adding server options and a few game play enhancements along with a number of bug fixes. Some of these improvements are:
Fixed Titan wall exploit – Players will no longer be able to exploit into the corridor wall to unfairly defend their titan.
Spectator Functionality – Players will be able to join a server as a spectator.
Active Camouflage Update: A bug that caused camouflaged players in medium to long range situations to be more visible than originally intended has been fixed. The IT-33 now functions as it did in the Public Beta. Thanks to former Beta Testers who helped to track down this issue.
Takao T20 and P33 Pereira Pistols: The maximum rate of fire has been increased on both the EU and PAC pistols. The pistol bullets’ damage over distance has also been tweaked to allow for a slightly larger ideal range. Players should find the handgun’s effectiveness as a close range panic weapon to be greatly improved.
Master Server Disconnects: We are adding client side enhancements to eliminate Master Server Disconnect Issues.
And much more!

WTF was that?
December 6, 2006 at 2:05 pm #41142XDCErratic-SpaceParticipantHaha damn you Lammie! Was about to post the same thing then we had a power cut.
Looks good though. Like the idea of an improved active-camo at l/m range. New map would be rather nice although I doubt we’ll get it in this patch. And ‘woohoo’ we can finally spec matches.

Spectator Mode is for UNRANKED Servers only and has been added as a result of feedback from the competitive league players. This will not be a feature on Ranked Servers.

December 6, 2006 at 6:20 pm #41146AnonymousParticipantHmm when I saw the thread title and I thought it was a pisstake, aimed at the retail users playing a buggy POS, doh!!
I can’t say that beta testing the new patch is a bad idea, but considering the retards who tried the closed public beta and how much information actually got passed back to EA (then their competance at fixing them) I’ll keep an open mind to this next patch =/
December 6, 2006 at 7:14 pm #41147LensmanParticipantThe following came from EA:
EA Press Release
Following the announcement of the 1.1 patch, EA would also like to announce the 1.11 patch. This will follow on approximately 3 days after 1.1, and fix the bleeding obvious problems introduced by 1.1 that a blind man would have noticed. Our elite testing team of 78 monkeys randomly pounding keyboards, however, failed to report the crashes, and simply asked for more bananas.
December 6, 2006 at 7:23 pm #41148XDC MadHippyParticipantmmmm Bananas 😆
December 6, 2006 at 7:24 pm #41149airmessyParticipantAn infinite amount of moneys with an infinite amount of pc’s and an infinite amount of time would create a bf patch that does not make more bugs.

That, or 1 labotomised monkey which has been deceased then stuffed and put in a trophy cabinet for several years with no PC and no time whatsoever could do it too 😛

You really have no idea mate how much work and manhours goes into testing unless you’ve experienced it.
Your response just typifies the internet morons who run their mouth off without knowing any facts.

December 6, 2006 at 8:16 pm #41152XDCiNSANEParticipantI stopped slagging testing the problems with these games once I did a bit for BF2.. its unbelieveable, rather them than me.. They take every spare hour of your life.. its not good.. So be patient, they will have it fixed in patch 10.50 or bring out another game so you forget about the shambles of the game you are diddin hehe.. or get RO 😛

I do as I have experienced it (but not for EA) and I will continue to slag them off all day long 🙄 Sure they may not be able to figure out every last bug in there especially the obscure stuff featuring weird button combinations which will only creep out over months in the public domain, but seriously it is laughable the amount of bugs that make it to the public which are so painfully obvious that anyone who even played the game with the patch for 5 minutes would see them…
/Gets on soap box
I also was on the 2142 beta, the first ever thing I saw when I joined a server was someone being insulted via some form of faggotry. Most of the beta testers were just there to play the game before any of their mates and gloat, they really didn’t seem to give a shit about being constructive in any shape or form, so yeah….. most beta testers = public server smacktards… = no confidence in the system.
December 6, 2006 at 9:07 pm #41154XDC MadHippyParticipantOh shit! That makes me a public server smacktard 😕 Not sure I can live with the guilt.
runs off to test new version of minesweeper
🙄 🙄
