Gotta love how people are lulled into a false sense of security by a guide with a gun, which in most cases is either not loaded or has one bullet, reserved not for the pack of lions attacking your group, but for the unlucky sod who was caught by them, to spare him the pain of having to be eaten alive

Being a stranger in another animals domain can be a bit interesting. I once took some visitors to the farm for a stroll to one of the camps and neglected to bring a rifle. Near the camp I spotted a leopard sitting on a rocky outcrop we call a kopje. It was about 5 meters above the path and 10 meters to our right. I shat myself because you almost never see leopards before dusk, and it did not bugger-off. The bugger sat an gave us the look. The twits with me we going “Aww wow, how cool, is’nt it cute” etc and I was just say, “shut up, walk back slowly” They did not get it till I showed them some photos of one of our trackers who was on on the receiving end of an angry Ingwe (rather obviously dead tracker). That shut them up. A leopard has the habbit pulling your scalp over your face, then grabbing your shoulders with his front paws and racking out yer belly with his hind claws, gut you in seconds.

I have more stories than you can shake a stick at. As for dumb-fucks who get out their cars in game-reserves, they get what they deserve. Every year back home there are always a couple stupid European, Yankee or Japanese fucks who get themselves chomped. Just rewards for stupidity.

Probaly the closed I have come to being Shumba’s hor’derve was in the then South West Africa (Namibia) when I was helping a buddy Rudi pot some lions on their farm that were noshing the cattle. We were walking through the bush heading for a waterhole where we would look for spoor when Rudi’s grandfather fired a shot accross my chest. When I looked around there was a lioness about 3 meters from me. The old man had stopped to light his pipe and caught a flicker of movement that betrayed the cunning bitch. We backtracked her trail and she had been stalking us from near the entrance to the camp, for around 20 minutes.

I have tails of Rhinos & Jumbos, and fucking Black Mambas.

Hmmm.. looks a bit fake to me. Of course I’ll trust pharty on this one but the whole thing has a hoax feel to it – the shakey cam (like the bigfoot movies), the story-like cut to it – daddy goes up to lions, gets a mauling, cuts to screaming kids. And there doesnt appear to be any blood on the lions chops…
