I know what you mean Insane. I remember enjoying ‘Operation: Flashpoint’ so much I watched the film ‘Buffalo Soldiers’, but it turned out to be shit.
But this looks like a good ‘un, My sister loves ‘Band of Brothers’ and I keep trying to get the wife to watch it, but she’d rather watch ‘Ugly Betty’.
There’s no tanks, parachute drops, evil Nazis or awesome shoot-outs in Ugly Betty, so I’ve no idea why women like it.
First Look : The Pacific
WTf wtf? no-one mentioned that this is currently screening with 2 episodes already released. I will report back once the ..ahem torrents have dled 😉
So far from the 1st episode my opinion is that it’s good but it is’nt another band of brothers and as it continues i doubt it will be.
In reality for me it’s probably more likely that it’s easier to relate to the European theatre of war than the pacific due to being a European and also being familiar with the landscapes of that war in real life whereas unpopulated jungle islands on the other side of the world, fighting against a mainly unseen enemy and seldom seen civilians, is harder to relate.
All in all it is enjoyable and certainly watchable.just my 2cents… I’m curious to know what our American cousins think of this one?
I’m liking it.. I keep expecting the original cast to pop up, but they dont, whats good though is they tend to find good unknown actors for these kinda things, which is good!

Apparently to watch it on british soil, you’ll need to subscribe to Movie package of Sky.. errm.. FUCK THAT!
