I’d always liked the PS as well, even when the PS1 started out and had crap parts the customer service was always good and the good jap games on the PS2 (Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4 and such like) always gave it the edge over the Xbox for me.

It’s a shame, but it looks like it’s time for everyone at Sony to ram their consoles up their own fudge tunnels. Set o wankers.

You have to put the PS3 release into the context of Sony’s next generation DVD format war with some other company [Blueray vs something or other]. Sony are trying to get their PS3s onto the market any which way they can so that they have a consumer base for their format. Sadly European customers are getting shafted on the backwards compatibility for games while they scramble for release. As they say, you’d be buying this for what it can do in the future not what it once could do but anyway you look at it, Sony are taking their customers for granted and I’m not sure I want to be treated that way as a consumer.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to ‘chip’ the Japanese/US version yet or even if that’s necessary?
I was going to buy one of these for ages but the thing I heard that put me off was that to make the most of the graphics you need HD TV. And since they are waaay too expensive at the moment I can live without the PS3 for a bit longer.
