ParticipantPah! Solar system, schmolar system (as I might say if I was a sterotypical Jewish mother). Besides I’ve recently worked out that I’m now the biggest thing in the universe, since I’m visible wherever I go. I’ve cancelled any holidays to south America incase they all start worshiping me instead of the sun. Madre Mia (as I might say if I was a stereotypical South American).
And I’ve brought myself a ‘scope now, so I’m a n00b with an expensive bit of equipment ๐

ParticipantHere it is. It’s an Antares Sentinel 80mm short tube refractor. Just need to buy myself a few new eyepieces (just got a 32mm and a 12.4mm at the moment).

ParticipantDoes it work finding new jobs?
December 6, 2007 at 9:14 am #57461XDCsPUNKer
Participantonly if your new job is “snooping perv”
Nice scope Neon. Looks nice and compact and perhaps a little to small for my tastes. I want to get rid of the 6″ I have and swap it for an 8″ as theres a lot of nebulae to see this winter and it’s not so easy to see with a 6″
Seben is still the best affordable scope at the moment for an 8″ a little over รฦรโรยขรขโยฌร ยกรฦรขโฌลกรโรยฃ100 and also worth checking them out for lenses. (recommend the seben super zoom) just type in seben telescopes on ebay
heres a nebula for those that dont know

ParticipantThat’s a planetary nebula, not a proper nebula. This is caused by a star ejecting it’s outer layers whereas a proper nebula is a massive cloud of gas and dust, usually being formed into stars I believe.

As you’re being pedantic, I feel I must point out – the apostrophe in it’s was unnecessary. I love you anyway xx ๐
December 8, 2007 at 1:10 pm #57468XDC_Wolf
ParticipantNo apostrophe need for the possessive pronoun in “its”. Since we are being pedantic a “nebula” is merely the astronomical name for an area that there is formation of objects in, so Apunks was correct, and in fact I should point out that in order for him to be wrong he would have had to have made the distinction that it was a stellar nebula. Your incorrect use of the words “proper nebula” to imply stellar nebula was misleading and shameful.

ParticipantSpeaking of pedantic.. It’s/Its Spunks not Apunks ๐

Participantone thing none of you seemed to have picked up is how damn awesome the surround sound is on this.
put the DVD back in, watch the first 2 minutes and you’ll appreciate that even though it’s not a silver screen masterpiece the sound is fantatsic ๐
sad day when you’re suggesting watching a film with your eyes shut, lol
