Meh, it’s not as powerful as I’ve made it out to be here. It’s more of a comedy weapon than anything else. The hate it generates headshotting people from across the map is so funny though, I’ve been called a cheat so many times with this, probably been reported a ton too.

OK – inspired by stalkers vid I have been whoring that shottie all week.
Really enjoying the game afresh – totally different style of gameplay. Getting lots of kills near and far.
One question though… why the sniper scope? The *6 distance is not really used much for that weapon. The acog has less glint and at *4 is probably the sweet spot for distance? No? Also slightly faster to pull up.
If not – why not?

You are 100% correct doc, the acog is much more efficient, but you are missing 1 vital reason to be using the 6x scope, the sheer comedy value 🙂

I gotta agree, nothing would enrage me more than seeing that thing on a killcam, would certainly make you think “What in the fuck is that guy doing???”
I was inspired by your video to try this for myself. I tried it with slugs on the DAO-12 (where I already had them) but decided it didn’t seem to have the power.
So then I spent some time unlocking the slugs on the M3A1 because I thought it did decent damage and had a good magazine, but found it to be ridiculously inaccurate.
With a holo sight I could aim at a point on a wall about 20′ away and even using ADS the shot would land low and to the left slightly of where I was aiming. In combat I couldn’t hit a damned thing.So then I watched the video again and swapped to the 870. Worked through to get the slugs and found that it still wasn’t that accurate – the drop-off for the slugs is fairly big even at medium ranges (i.e. firing from one side of the Seine to the other).
I have now unlocked the 6x scope but I’m not sure it adds anything over the ACOG as the doc said.I’m also wondering (apart from the comedy value) when it would be useful to arm myself with slugs and a shotty – possibly as an engineer on some of the larger maps but I suspect the SCAR-H would be as good.

The only time I would ever have had an advantage with a shotgun is in close quarters combat. In the video, when I was playing rush on the bazzar and I mowed down several people in a door way, I could never have achieved that with an assault rifle, I’d have run out rounds in the clip and would likely have died (sooner, can’t help team kills). Ever other situation, I could have done the same, if not better with a machine gun of some sort. Remember, I was playing on hardcore during these vids too and I didn’t show the many many deaths I sustained running around with a silly setup 🙂
The comedy value is only matched by something I saw in another video, someone planting C4 on a tank then blowing it up with a shotgun. I can only imagine the tears that would generate.
