I’ve heard Lenovo are now the biggest- are they the best too? Looking for a laptop in the £500 range

They are all much of a muchness I reckon.

my last two have been HP and been happy enough with them.

Always worth trawling through Dell Outlet. I have been tempted a few times.

Is pretty cheap comapred to brand new – it is in the ‘scratch and dent’ category – but has a year warranty. For example.

Dell or Lenovo are pretty decend depending on what your going to use it for? If it just general web, video viewing, anfd office apps then they are fine. I use a Lenovo T410 for work and they do a pretty decent job.

Does it really matter what brand assembles a laptop? Look at the hardware and decide based on that.

Idd. And what I would check out is warranty. FE. Asus has here in finland 2 year warranty (12mths for battery) and others tend to have only 1 year.
