It’s now up for pre-order.
If you pre-order, you get some sort of EA DLC with it and there is a digital deluxe edition that charges you even more for beta access and some unspecified “bonus content”.
God I hate EA.

those are COD esque prices. and something I have never understood about EA selling games on origin at the same price as retail.
March 29, 2013 at 11:19 am #84874xdc the docParticipantCrazy prices.
Thing is… you just know that they are going to bring out some premium bollocks a few months later for another 40 quid or so. 85 quid for a game nowadays?
March 29, 2013 at 1:20 pm #84875AlzirKeymasterJust wait until they make BF free to play, then you’ll see crazy prices.

Yeah true but steam also sell them at retail price so thats not a surprise.
But EA seem to have whacked £15 on all their games. Sim city is still £35 on amazon but tomb raider is now £20 and they were both released on the same day. Tomb raider was £30 on release just like every other PC game that hasn’t got an EA logo on.
March 29, 2013 at 7:30 pm #84877LammieParticipantConsidering they haven’t got any packaging and distribution costs for content on Origin, I think the are taking the piss with those prices.

That’s the exact reason I didn’t buy premium for BF3. It’s a shame so many people bought it because now EA have learned that they can milk their customers that way. The sales volume of the premium have pretty much guaranteed we will suffer the same shit for every battlefield game until EA goes under.

steam is a little bit different though. they are in effect acting as a retailer and as such they take a percentage of the sale so the game publisher sets those prices, yes they are higher than they could be but not by a great margin. however origin is EAs own digital distribution platform, its not paying someone else the privilege of using it. and they are wanting to encourage people to go digital, its madness to me but hey, im not a financial business guru.

So they can stick my cash in the bank for the next 7 months? Fuck EA in it’s dirty face that’s what I say. Let’s all play ARMA. And yea, I’m a bit sour because they messed up SimCity so much.
