My sister (the other one!) wants to get a TV, Phone and BB package… and was questionning whether to get Sky or BT…
Ive checked the Sky site, and think I can get her the package she wants for £45.25 ish/month including Sky HD+ with Sky Sports, free evening and weekend calls and 8mb download 40gb limit BB (shes a lawyer so against illegal downloads!)…
Is it worth looking at BT? Or is Sky the be all and end all? Ive heard Sky+ is the best thing since sliced bread (but that may be from the relentless advertising!) Is it?!
Sky+ really is the dogs crown jewels and very easy to use. We’ve had it for a few years now and haven’t used the video to record anything since; it allows you to watch one channel whilst recording another or even record 2 channels whilst watching something you have saved on your planner that you may have recorded a week ago. A function called “series link” allows you to record every episode of a series such as diagnosis murder, Coronation St etc with just the press of one button so you don’t have to worry about missing an episode of The Bill if you get caught late at work or stuck in traffic. You can go through the EPG (electronic programme guide) up to a week in advance i think so you can see if there is a documentary that interests you on Nat-Geo for example and set the sky+ to record it and any other episode for you, again in case you forget it’s on at least you know it will be recorded.
I’m not so sure about their BB package though i may have a look into it as i’m paying way over the odds for my BB now.

As a new customer, Sky+ FTW.. if you already exist, its a pricey fecking deal if you want to add new stuff!
I fancy Sky HD.. but they want stupid install fee’s and extra tenner a month, a mate tells me SkyHD is supposed to be coming down soon int year, I aint heard of it, but who knows, could be true.. reel them buyers in
I thought sky BB was pants (espesh techie support) however they seem to get a good following, and only bb provider that offers unlimited d/l .. and acctually does

i used to be ntl/virgin an worked for em,
so 20mb, all channels – V+ (watch one record two-one more than sky+) an phone for £15 i was happy 😉
excellent latency for the fraggin..
i moved now, sharing a BT network and have discovered that they cap torrents/p2p sht down to 3kb/s 5pm-12.
Not a biggie really tho, i jus dl outta those hours. latencys ok till the bird upstairs fires up her p2p.
good trick i do tho,,if i wanna game…
i ARP spoof her IP and then her ssl sht dont work ie facebook / msn, she puts it down to the p2p and discontinues to use it 😈 😈 😈
I had Sky BB and it was bollox.
It would just suddenly decide that it wasn’t going to connect to any secure sites for days and days and days. I had such a nightmare with my connection they refunded my 6 months of payments and let me out of my contract early. I’d stay clear of Sky BB.

Nah, wish I was considerate enough to try to rejuvenate the forums. I got some 1/2 price cheap sparkly stuff in Tesco this evening, I’m now pished and Vic is pretending he’s dead so he doesn’t have to communicate with me till bed time (drunk wife = tedious convo but dirty sex, it can be a tough evening poor man lol), so I thought I’d talk to you instead 😀

Can I just say, the taxi driver that gave me a lift home last week said I didn’t seem drunk at all when i apologised for being so pissed (funny how it never hits home till I get into the taxi with a sober driver) and what’s more he thought all the tales I told him were highly entertaining, and oh how he was amused (ha ha ha) at me bringing 8 30th birthday helium balloons into the taxi with me, so there 😛
i like people like you too………….i just can’t stand the twat who thinks it’s perfectly fine to get in my taxi with her mcdonalds or kebab, proceed to eat it whilst dropping bits of lettuce on the floor then use the nice leather seats as a personal serviette!
