Any verdict on the PC version yet? Particularly interested in how the multiplayer is shaping up this time, as I can wait for the price to come down before buying it for single player.
Why was the ps3 version so bad Max?

Those tight fisted bastards over at activision have the games hosted by players again rather than servers so if i was you i would not touch it with a barge pole on the pc.
Ps3 has been nothing but disconnects every few games the last 2 nights. Today i found a connection options thingy whatsit that lets you select only join to locale hostings so that might sort some of it.I love MW2

Its pretty much the same as COD4, except you can buy weapons instead of getting them all.. which is a good addition, the maps are good too.. cant see me being exciting for long, not that I am as its another COD but its worth playing, with a proper Xbox controller, or even better a Mouse and Keyboard!

I’m tempted to not bother buying a pc for gaming until a WW2 FPS comes out again.
Modern combat is just bollocks! Been done to death and back again and yet kiddies moaned when there were about 4 WW2 shooters out about 8 years ago!

The theme doesn’t bother me because to be honest it feels cool as fuck in single player. Multiplayer has never been anything special though, as it heavily favours a lone wolf style of play, and of course the lack of dedicated server support for MW2 and subsequent invasion of cheating bastards completely killed it for me. I’ve heard they have server support now though, and would be interested in getting this if multiplayer is considered any good?
Actually wtf has the theme got to do with the way a game plays, and why it’s such an issue for people? Guns shoot just as straight nowadays as they did in WW2, and anything vehicle related doesn’t apply to this game. If I’m diving for cover in COD, I’m feeling exactly the same thing I’d feel in BF1942, i.e. how the fuck am I going to get out of this and kill that bastard shooting at me. The only difference between the games is in the options I have to kill said bastard, as 1942 was a bit more forgiving in terms of giving you a health bar, and having less accurate weapons. That’s nothing to do with the era the game’s set in, it’s all down to the balance in the game’s build.

hehe, i just prefer the WW2 era for gameplay, dogfighting in a spitfire was so much more entertaining than getting a lock on from 2 miles away and blowing the guy out the air. I just feel WW2 lends itself much better to a game in the way of balance etc.
just my opinion.
