So, as you are all devastated to hear, I am moving to Canada in June – who knows how long for – probs 2 years to life! Due to the rather long visa processing times and unlikelihood of being sponsored at entry level, it appears I will be unemployable for a good 5 months.

It appears I am able to legally work for UK based clients remotely. Does anyone have any suggestions on skills worth learning to be able to support myself over the internet?

I eagerly await your “non porn related” responses.

I used to make a lot of websites as you know with junk articles. There are a lot of places that pay money for native English speakers to write junk articles with particular keyword densities on the most random subjects you can imagine. I can’t remember the sites as it was years ago, but they can pay a few £ per article so if you can knock maybe 5 out an hour, you could at least get by. Look into fivver.com and see if you can find a niche that you can fulfil. Some gigs sell by the thousands.

I kind of gave up to be honest. In all my website adventures, maybe made around £1300 which isn’t too bad. Was a lot of work but at the end of the day, I learned a lot as well so not just financial gain.

thats not too bad – do they continue to make you money, or do you need to continue adding content?
