September 10, 2009 at 12:30 pm #74077XDCiNSANEParticipantaye, wanted to watch this, but missed a few.. will look it up
p.s. ALL american TV (That is NOT Comedy) puts us to shame, we are soooo behind them and always will be!
*edited for the benefit of anal brigade* 😛
September 11, 2009 at 8:01 am #74078XDC_WolfParticipantthat’s bollocks Insane, for a start our comedies are better, general script writing is better and we don’t have to pander to the 2 minute attention span so our scenes can be more wide spread and ranging.
September 11, 2009 at 8:43 am #74079To0THBRU5HParticipantPeep Show, AMAZING.
September 11, 2009 at 1:29 pm #74080XDCiNSANEParticipantThe program this thread is based on is not a comedy as far as i know, Mag’s used bbc fantasy as an example, I was trying to stick to the thread theme when I refered to ALL, as in ALL kinds of program like this that uses SFX etc.. like fantasy, sci fi etc… I’ll be more specific next time just incase of trolls.. and on that explanation, It is not utter bollocks 🙂
September 11, 2009 at 9:54 pm #74081xdc magickerParticipantlol
i agree with insane.. even our expensive productions ie dr who have shit production values compared to US / Canadian stuff
i struggle to think of any British sci fi / drama / action shows that are any good at all where are our equivalents to Stargate franchise / 24 / lost / herioes / fringe / dexter / true blood / etc
there seems to be a rule that all brit stuff is allowed to be shit cos we made it and it has to be so depressing you want to cut your wrists
September 11, 2009 at 10:56 pm #74082xdc the docParticipantJust don’t have a telly like me… problem solved. Don’t watch any shite as a result! 😀
Oh… and the licence fee has a lot to answer for… flipin prole tax. Why is the state paying for dancing with the stars for fucks sake?
Scrap the BBC and the rest of the British media might have a hope in hell of getting their business of the ground? They might even eventually be able to make expensive pieces of brain rot like the Americans!
September 12, 2009 at 12:30 am #74083XDC_WolfParticipantballs to that doc, look at the documentaries the BBC make like Blue Planet, expensive doc that are educational and not feasible for any other commercial company to make, the Website is fantastic as well, and the Educational resources are brilliant, far better than any I’ve seen from any other media outlet. The BBC is worth the money, it’s standard of programmes are far better than others, the lack of adverts is brilliant and the news is certainly more verified and balanced than Sky or ITV/ITN.
September 12, 2009 at 1:00 am #74084xdc the docParticipantIf u want to argue it out u need to get back on TS u dick. Where u been?
September 12, 2009 at 1:53 am #74085XDC wild egg tamerParticipantthe news is certainly more verified and balanced than Sky or ITV/ITN.
The BBC is so biased and left wing it’s offensive.
now, where’s my Daily Mail!! 8)
September 12, 2009 at 2:58 pm #74086XDC_WolfParticipantI’m staying at a friends place since getting back from Spain, no desktop so no TS, back soon though!
September 14, 2009 at 7:02 am #74087XDCiNSANEParticipantWTF.. no TV.. are you a mormon? .. I dunno what I’d do without TV.. the thought of not having one is unpleasant
Oh and thats gonna be one expensive ceiling decoration in you’re new house Doc :/
BBC is much better than ITV, except on Champions league nights.. with the exception of those annoying wankers who commentate, I think I’d rather have to listen to that prick John Motson and thats saying something!
