The medic improvements are here at last 🙂
Medic’s items, paraphrased from Valve’s fact sheet are:
The Blutsauger: Players that earn one-third of the 36 new Medic achievements will win a new syringe gun called the Blutsauger. Unlike the standard syringe gun, this new weapon loses the ability to score critical hits against an opponent. Instead, it draws health from enemies to replenish its user each time a syringe hits. The Blutsauger is especially useful for fighting retreats.
The Crtitzcrieg: Medics who earn two-thirds of the new Medic achievements are granted the Critzcrieg — a new medigun with an Ubercharge that increases its recipient’s chances of firing critical shots to a full 100 percent. Critzcriegs, however, cannot offer invulnerability.
The Ubersaw: Available upon completion of all 36 new Medic achievements, the Ubersaw converts any melee damage it does directly to Ubercharge. Four hits with this new weapon will fully charge whichever medigun the Medic wields.
I can see the critzcreig being both extremely annoying and brilliant at the same time 🙂
Also the new goldrush map is out with this update.

I reckon Goldrush is Epic, shame they thought to roll it out the upgrades and stuff just for the medic, now they are like buses 8 medics on a team of 12 last night all going for fookin bonesaw kills and not healing anyone…brilliant…..novelty will wear off I hope. Just if they roll this stuff out per class then its going to be the same old story every time.
I also see they hastily removed the console command that let you unlock everything (well spotted test team..doh)so those people that cheated (cheats a bit harsh I guess) just lost all the acheivements even the ones they earned legitimately LOL to that. Surprised Valve bothered as it was bound to be hacked in no time anyway. I got no problem if people don’t want to do the acheivements they should still be entitled to the weapons. Not everyones got 8 hours a day to play TF2.

That’s my problem with unlocks in general, especially in that camp fest COD4 where unlocks give you an advantage rather than just tactical options. I haven’t had a go just yet with this update as I’ve been busy doing other stuff, and of course there was the football, but hopefully I’ll get on tonight for a blast 🙂

played last night. The gold rush map is OK nothing special and a bit bloody annoying if the team doesnt pull together. Not bad to have a different type of gameplay tho
Just had my first game on goldrush I was pretty impressed. I’m still not entirely sure how the whole thing works as I arrived quite late into the game (are there stages like on hydra?), but it was a blast. The map is made for awesome criticals :lol:, you just get so many crowds around the cart, which is fun if you get lucky as soldier but even more so playing as demoman 🙂
yea great map, because there’s been so many medics around its been blu wins all the way, now players are starting to learn how to defend the games are much tighter. So easy to play Spy as Red because Blu are all looking one way and standing by the cart…cheap and nasty but fun.
Yes Matt it plays like Dustbowl where each section breaks and you move forward to the enemys old spawn etc.
Because we played with a raw server config tonight, and this was the first map, I got a lot more experience on goldrush than I bargained for. But it’s fucking brilliant! There is so much fun (and yea so much frustration) to be had with this map, everyone please try it!
That’s all I want to say (for the record it’s nearly 3am on a saturday night, but this is my impression from earlier ;)). I came home tonight wanting to have another serious bash at the game!!

Just noticed this in the update news. I suppose it stops me yelling at idiot spies for wasting teleports, but then again it was always funny when you killed them because of the sparkles at their feet 😆

o Added medium ammo and health to basement hallways
o Added small ammo and health to top of spiralHadn’t noticed this either until last night. May sound small, but the amount of times I get down there with no health, this will make a massive difference 🙂
Oh and any medics out there hurry up and get that kritzcrieg, it’s awesome when you put it on a HWG 😯
about the Kritzkreig, watch out for the Medic running around with permanent Uber. If you see one, heal him because that cancels this annoying ‘sploit. Really easy to do “allegedly”.

well I have reformatted this morning as ever since I upgraded my with the Core2Duo and installed TF2 from the steam backup dvd I made, every now and again it just freezes 🙁
So not using the backup dvd and downloading the whole game from steam again to see if that cures it.
I also noticed that my BIOS has had my ram running at DDRII 533 🙁 and not DDRII667 (Which is what the ram is) so got that changed, not sure what effect it will make though, have 2GB of the stuff in my pc.
I think the gold rush map is quite good, but frustrating for red if you dont have competent engineers and people helping to defend.
