We’re going to have a problem with this game, which is why I ask.
In BF3 we had a server which worked initially but that piece of shit battlelog and it’s ranking system screwed us over in customising the server’s settings, which left us with the Hardcore vs Normal debate.
I think it’s fair to say we’re split right down the middle on that one, but some like myself are just not at all into the opposite extreme of what we like, which means when we get a server we’ll have a dilemma. This will depend of course on how battlelog’s server browser has been improved (or broken further) by EA, as if you can customise a server half way between the two extremes, without compromising the server’s listing on battlelog, then I think we might find a compromise we’ll all be happy with. If not then I’m just wondering who we’ll have playing the game as then we’ll have a better idea on where we stand.
The first thing I’ll be looking at tomorrow in the beta is the server browser because I’m personally sick of this discussion and really hope we’ll be able to put it to bed this time with a compromise that works. Incidentally it might also be possible for us to make a customised server work if we all get on board together and concentrate on it from an early stage, but I guess that’ll depend on who we have getting this game.
i believe that bf4 has a “classic” setting, now i dont know what the details are of this setting but it is supposed to be like ’42 was out of the box.
If that is true, surely there can’t be anyone who’ll have a problem with that?
It will also mean EA have listened to a request 😯
The more I’ve played hardcore the more I’ve disliked it. Unless they completely rebalance every weapon for hardcore mode then I can’t see me liking it at all. Pistols become way too powerful and sniper rifles one hit kill with a chest shot from any range. As a sniper you’d think I’d like that but its just flat out broken and encourages very bad habits and sloppy aiming.
I had a go on the beta last night and it feels like they’ve adjust the bullet trajectory a bit. Couldn’t hit a thing with the stock sniper rifle but It could just be that I’m really rusty. The stock scope is a 6x with a 14x variable zoom that you toggle by hitting T. Its basically the optimal setup as far as I can tell and if they stick with that as default then I cant see myself ever needing to change to one of the later unlocks.

No been reading a lot on the forums about the sniping and it does look like they have adjusted trajectory.

You need 64bit and your graphics card would struggle i think
i know that the cows guys are getting a server which will be running in classic (softcore). i have to say that since playing the beta i have got used to classic mode and it no longer grates me like it did with BF3.

lol, i also have unlocked the big gift box.
Good. I luv to c4 tanks and other vehicles. Just too bad I can only have 3 bombs. But with those big gift packs near me it’s all sorted out and boom goes the tank 😀
