I have been casually designing a mobile text based (or basic graphical) game in my head for a while, and am at the stage where I was wondering whether it was feasible – just wondering if there are any coders out there who know about this field (and who agree not to steal the idea if you think it good!) who would be up for discussing it?
Was thinking in the perfect world we could get some XDC colaboration going on and try and make a finished product with a combination of skills (Spunkers art, Wolfs English, bmstalkers/Magickers website design, Queekers tree surgery skills and my logistics!), and then split the 30p profit amoung us.
So maybe this is two questons (fuck it, I’m going to make it 3!)
1) Any coders fancy discussing an idea with me?
2) If Yes to the above, and we can get something off the ground, would anyone else be interested in adding input? and,
3) If Yes to both above, could we perhaps set up a private sub forum to discuss ideas?
If not, no worries, just checking!
Sounds interesting, I’d be into helping how I could. I know Anobiz has limited coding knowledge, he’s made a few blackberry apps and it’s alleged that something like the iPhone is quite easy to program for. But yeah, I’d be in for it, and you can trust me…. I’ve got an honest face…. just ask Matt 🙂

Like Ben said i have limited coding knowledge when it comes to this kinda stuff, i self taught myself how to code shit for me bb and im pretty sure it would be easy to port it over to other formats…

Cool – Just being able to put a working model together could be pretty cool, and then see where that takes us. I have been trying to get my mates together for ages to throw ideas around in a “this wont make any money but is fun to chat about” kind of way, but always hard to find the time – thinking internet forums are the way forward!
Have asked Magicker for a private forum bit, will happily reveal all (for doc to dismiss!) when this is sorted.
what platform are you intending to release this on Turks?
iphone? android? BB?
if you decide to go ahead with this i can probably help with testing as well as putting people in contact with some other developers if problems arise. maybe my 2 1/2 years in mobile games can come in handy 🙂

google are testing an app development tool, essentially it allows anyone with little or no programming experience to develop apps for the android platform.
It may be worth doing a search and registering yourself.
