Only got it yesterday and I’m sick of it
Playing ? No, sick of trying to play it. Let’s see, so far this evening it’s been:
2 random CTD, one just after joining a server, another whilst it was still loading
3 Server connectivity lossesBut for the 5 minutes I played, it seemed pretty okay.
BF2142 sucks. Or I suck. Or both. I will try to get to grips with it next week – I’m busy servicing the gf the next few days (Woot! :twisted:).
Not sure if I was enjoying a laggy 20 minutes or whether my PC ain’t up to it. Keep thinking of the £35 I could have spent on beer (the drink, not the player).

Well, after spending more than 3 hours on it so far I have to retract my original statement saying it’s a pile of poo
It is indeed a Big Steaming heap of cow dung !
I think the longest I’ve played was about 4 minutes. I either get CTD, problem with your connection, or when trying to joing games I just get ” Error”, or connection to master server lostAny ideas, and I’ve already:
Uninstalled video and sound drivers
Uninstalled BF2142
Uninstalled EA downloader
Installed latest video and sound drivers
Reinstalled EA downloader
Reinstalled BF2142, then patch
Manually update punkbusterseems odd mate, i’ve not had any probs………other than not getting signed into EA this morning which affected most players! Speaking of which, thats the big drawback with the current system, you can’t get logged in, you don’t play! was never like that in the 42 days………..the good ole days…blah blah blah

Damnit, yes, I clean forgot about that. What do u suggest, uninstall both demo and normal bf2142, then just reinstall normal BF2142 again ?
Must admit I actually got about 30mins of continous play last night before I got another CTD, but would still like about an hour or more at least !
the batch file works well mate…….had no problems since i used it, games works well when the EA servers decide they want to let me play.
Thanks Hippy, don’t think it’s made any difference, I ran that and reinstalled again.
Have had about 20mins on the server, followed by about 30 mins trying to get back on the server with various issues, and then about 5mins of playing again and another CTD when pressing F2 to switch to the gunner in the jeep thingy
