nah sane, i only seemed to have a problem on our server, went and played on a few others with no probs……..in fact thinking about it i did have real bad lag on another server that was multiplay but i put it down to me messing with my gfx settings at the time.

I have been on wireless for about 2 years now, never had any issues with BF2
I’ve already updated Punkbuster manually, even after reinstall number 4
But it is good to see others are also getting very random and bizarre crashes and CTD.
Fortunately, I received pro evo 6 today, so I reckon I’ll try to lay off the Beta BF2142 and wait till they’ve released the next patch.
Honestly I can’t take it waiting 6 mins for the game to load, selecting the server, the map loading, me selecting a spawn point, and then for it to CTD after 2 mins play.@=XDC=iNSANE wrote:

Yeah – the only upside to 2142 crashes is that the levels are way quicker to load than in BF2. But that’s like the Good News/Bad News joke about the bloke that wakes up in hospital to find his legs have been amputated – the chap in the next bed wants to buy his slippers.
But I have to say the crashes are seriously pissing me off now. I jumped in for a game earlier this evening, was doing well, and teh after 20 minutes a complete computer crash. I lost the will to even attempt a rejoin.
I may go and find a BF2 server to grab my gametime. RO is out as I can’t be arsed to learn a new game. That, and I couldn’t take the shame 😉
Downloaded Demo, Installed Demo, got some bulldshit DX message, uninstalled Demo, deleted Demo…..fired up BF2

greetings judge, how are things on the other side of the World ?
I’m impressed with how quick the maps load in 2142, no 2 minute waits, all over in around 30 seconds!
It seems odd that only a few chaps are getting the ctd’s, do you perhaps share a common denominator in your hardware/software setup ? Were you both testers and perhaps have a corrupted registry file? I hope you guys get it sorted soon.

The demo needs DirectX 9.0c (Feb 2006 version) which wasn’t bundled in the demo to save space. Just head over to microsoft download and install and you will be good to go with the demo.
Has to be said i was calling our server all sorts of names last night, but when i went on a few other servers mine was just as laggy. Think my adsl was having the night off rather than server side

The demo needs DirectX 9.0c (Feb 2006 version) which wasn’t bundled in the demo to save space. Just head over to microsoft download and install and you will be good to go with the demo.

Yea NZ’s cool just doing major shit to my house which has fooked my back up a bit…getting old yo. Back doing testing ..got fucked off boat building too many nasty a$$ chemicals for my liking. Testing IVR phone systems for a bank..not really thrill of the century but it pays dubble what a boat builder gets 🙂

2142 is alreet, takes a lil gerrin used too.. but enjoyable none the less.. Statswhores get on me tits but thats never gonna go away as long as ranking is in the game :/
