Of late I have been playing a fair bit of Poker , just wondering if many peeps on here play it be it live or online? , I often make sacrifices to the card gods so that they will grant me good luck and fortune ( though they don’t allways listen 😡 )

I love it.Play in a local pub league every 3-4 weeks. I seem to have a knack for it – often make the final tables… but dont follow through to win much! Probably made about 250 quid last year in cash and prizes… season just started 2 weeks ago and I am currently up £35 😀
Never played online… scared it might get too addictive!
I would recommend harrington on hold em and the little green book if you are looking for some basic poker literature.
BTW – I dont play online… but found an interesting app in facebook for playing texas hold em… good fun and free of risk. I have increased my 1000 chips to 59000 in a few days 🙂

Dunno how much I’d want to play poker online for cash? Surely one of the most important things about Poker’s being able to (or at least trying to) read the people you’re up against? Playing Poker on the FB app where no real money is involved simply means getting caught up in crazy raises because people don’t give a sh*t. Playing poker in Scotland on the other hand means trying to avoid getting stabbed as you leave with your winnings, and drinking enough Irn Bru to float a battleship!
LOL Erratic – it aint that bad. I played in a few tourneys in the ciruc casino in Edinburgh and Gala in Dundee… very respectable and plenty of bouncers around in case of trouble.
There are some crazy bets on facebook – but I play my normal game there and seem to do quite well.
I used to play a lot online but it’s far too accessible when I’ve been drinking, and it’s an expensive source of entertainment when you have a few mates round.
Richard there’s a respectable looking casino 5 minutes walk from my place in town, and a few pubs have poker nights about the city as well. I suppose I can see where you’re coming from though when it comes to Livingston 🙂
heres my 4 years worth on ladbrokes, although i made approx 500-800£ on a mates account before i started my own.
so call it £3500 up.
if i didnt drink so much stella it would be double if not triple that i’m sure. 2’s ok, over 4-5 cans, forget it, unless ure lucky.

Lol Matt sure you didn’t come round to the casino on Friday after all? There was a bunch of pissed up Belfast lads there who were winding up the punters something awful. I did wonder if you might be one of them! 😀
I made it to the final 9 players i think…. 30 quid light by the end of the night but I was a contender!

I won 25 quid at a cash table last week and thought i might as well try some on line.
Hmmmm – I didn’t realise that there was all these poker tracker progs around. Wheres the skill in those things? Really dissapointing that they are allowed on most of the major sites.
I signed up to party poker – but I’m not sure i want to play with a bunch of people using odds calculators and automated betting/folding bots.
Whats everyones views on this?
