    Hey guys

Looking at finally moving to the PCI-E side of graphics and I was all set to the Radeon X1950Pro as it offers alot of performance for the money.

However I see the new DX10 cards are coming out now, and the HD 2600XT is similarly priced to the X1950Pro, but uses less pwr, cooler and supports all the fancy DX10 stuff.

The X1950Pro beats it on most games just now, but the HD2600XT seems better on the DX10 stuff (Obviously)

So the question is which one! (I am not getting a HD2900XT or GF8800GTX as they are for wacko money)

I am also getting these bits when I do my upgrade:

Intel Core2Duo E4400 cpu (2ghz, but will clock up to 3.5ghz no probs!)
Asus P5B Intel P965 chipset motherboard
    2x 1GB DDR 2 6400 cosair ram
500GB Western Digital Caviar SATA II Drive (Only 1 flippin IDE socket)

Looking at around £360 inc vat and delivery currently 🙂

not sure what I can do with my current cpu, motherboard, ram, hdd etc lol. may be go in my media pc.

You can always look at the 8800 gts 320 or 640 models these are just as fast as the gtx’s at lower rezzies and only suffer when you go above 1600*1200 resolutions.

    Alot cheaper as well

Heh well the last Nvidia card I had was a GF4 TI4600 which was very good, and then got the Radeon 9800Pro that I have now.

The 8800GTS is a bit too expensive tbh, but I could stretch to the 8600GTS. It looks to be just as good as the X1950Pro but with DX10 added in for an extra £40. Where as the HD2600XT is slower than the X1950Pro and same price.

Anyone else got a 8600GTS to comment on?
