Reading various forums it seems that lower end machines like mine benefit from lots of ram…
With that said, does anybody have 4 gigs of ddr2 6400 that they would like to swop for nose hair or very little money?
Must say I am quite enjoying bf3 😀 😀

November 4, 2011 at 3:10 pm #80300airmessyParticipantNom with your pc specs i would honestly buy a new mobo and ddr3 ram. 4 gig of ddr3 ram is 23 quid these days.
I wanted more ddr2 a few months ago and it worked out cheaper to buy a new mobo and a 4 gig stick of ddr3 ram than it did to buy 4 gig of ddr2. Its also fasterNovember 4, 2011 at 5:52 pm #80301crazy hippoParticipantcant find any im afraid. must have sold it when i sold the part for my old pc last year

November 6, 2011 at 8:03 pm #80306nOmParticipantUpdate….
Cleaned my cpu fan and can now play on a mixture of low, mostly med settings with all the fancy gubbins off at 30fps + well happy, looks nice, plays smooth, the overclock on the cpu dont half help.
Loving the game btw, not a clue what i am doing but loving it:)
November 28, 2011 at 3:32 pm #80307Cha0sEngineParticipantthis is an old ish thread but do you still need some ram?
I’ve got a 2gb stick of “8500 C5C XMS2 DDR”
Maybe 4gb, depends if I get a new pair @ 800mhz as the 4gb @8500 wasnt compatible with my mobo..so im running 1 of the above with 1 CS Value select!! 🙂
Will it be worth going up 1gb (500mb) as im running win 7 32 bit??
November 28, 2011 at 4:08 pm #80308airmessyParticipantLook at my post above chaos. I have 775 mobo. You would see a massive improvement if you got a ddr3 capable mobo and 4 gig of ddr3 ram. Single ddr3 4 gig chips are like 24 quid these days.
I upgraded because my ram would not let me use w7, (i kept getting the fx driver error, dont ask me why derp ram give me a fx driver error ask microshit, its been a huge problem for alot of people since vista) So i needed new ram for bf3. It worked out cheaper for me to buy a new mobo and 4 gig of ddr3 than it did to buy new ddr2 ram. And this is soooo much faster than my old mobo and 3gig of ddr2November 28, 2011 at 4:11 pm #80309Cha0sEngineParticipantyeah i read that.. and its tempting.. but a new mobo + all the rest of it would soon add up.. 4gb of 800mhz can be had for about £60.. i know i know.. im wasting my cash on ddr2 ram.. 🙂
If I’m not going to see a gain.. i might as well stick with 3gb and be happy (spend the cash on strippers)

You would see a gain with this. Also means if you get a new processor cheap it will be quiet a large gainNovember 28, 2011 at 7:43 pm #80311Cha0sEngineParticipantThat is cheap ram.. But that mobo won’t fit in my case
My mobo is 17cm x 17cm..
Similar to this.. http://www.mini-itx.com/store/images/4302-Z68-ITX-A-E-01.jpgThe latest board is about 120 squids.
