So, my re-introduction to the BF2 world went OK. I got some reasonable scores, although I’m havin’ trouble gettin’ my mic to work again… hmm, maybe there’s some software I’ve forgotten to install…..
Highlight of the night was when I got told off for dumping some artillery in the uncap. It was, however, purely my ignorance, not me deliberately breaking the rules. I’ve always thought that little Island on Wake was fair game for arty, as it doesn’t have a red line through it, but now I know it’s not. So, I’ll avoid it from now on 😉
Still waitinn’ on the TS address & password, although it could be a moot point if I can’t get my mic to work…. 🙄

umm since when has that lil island been off bounds to Arty? *I’m assuminng you mean the one where the USA Arty is*… Yeah dont arty the carrier.. but the lil island.. nuke the fucker as far as I am concerned 😀

The only way I can get kills is with claymores. When I fire at people they often fire back, which I don’t like much.
If I could I’d be putting claymores in toilets if they had them in BF2. I’m dissapointed that none of the building sites have porta-loos in them, otherwise I’d be blowing the shit out of unsuspecting squaddies who needed a dump.
Neon’s anti-claymore advice: When you are trying to grab a flag, simply follow Messy at a safe distance. When he begins cussing on TS you’ll know he’s ‘discovered’ a claymore and the area is now 50% safe. To make it 100% safe, simply revive him and allow him to repeat.

Haha See, I’m tryin’ to get some Sniper badges, but I’m shit with the sniper rifle, so I have to get my points via the claymores when playing as Snipester.
Oh yeah, and it seems Insane thought the same as me, that that little Island was fair game. I never nuke the Carrier, just the little Island, but it upset some people, so I won’t do it again, unless I see Insane sitting there.

Its not marked as an uncap (ie redline) but its generally accepted to be one ie Chinese can’t capture it – all its used for is spawning US to take boats to the shore so if you were artying it it kinda falls under spawn raping. As ever I could see exceptions – if a commander was there – commanding or repairing, or a sniper – I would consider those fair game for an arty strike – but when there are no spawns on shore the fall out of innocent spawnees is likely to be high and probably not worth the grief.
Sorry about that last night, normally I’d agree with you that it’s fair game, except when the USofA don’t have any flags on the mainland, basically it sucks when the only place the entire team can spawn is the aircraft carriere and have to spen five minutes in a boat being raped. Also there were some questions raised about it on the server and I had to respond (otherwise people would think we did nothing) and having seen carnage on the island, I knew if I mentioned it you would stop.

Haha you didn’t piss me off! I have no probs not laying arty on that Island if people don’t want me too, it’s cool! I did get pissed off at that Jet that kept bloody strafing the Carrier, though…. 👿
