Think we need to get together and chat about how we want to setup our server?
Was on last night for 2 hours and I think we had a total of 2 or 3 people join, so question is, whats up with our server – i personally like HC, getting used to it but I know of at least 2 people who wont play on our server if its set to HC – so could we perhaps set our server to HC on a particular timeday and do the same for Normal mode? See if that brings people in.
You mean like hardcore mondays?
Its got fuck all to do with HC Max, I know several people who are very reluctant to play on non HC servers. It is quite simple… to get the server running you need some people to start it up each day. Whenever we have organised to do this on TS it has filled up pretty quick – HC or non hardcore. I dont have an issue if people want to swap the modes every few days, but lets not lose sight of what the actual problem is.
Issues as far as i see are… a lot of the heavy XDC players from earlier on just dont seem to play much now.
Those who are around seem very reluctant to seed the server – last night Ben was saying that even though there was a game on XDC HC sharqi… someone was on a different HC sharqi server and didnt want to swap 🙂 Quite often when I got on there are 3 or 4 peeps on my friends list playing over 2 or even 3 servers…. none of these servers being ones we pay for!
I understand people want to just get in a game when they get home from a hard days work – not criticising anyone. Just saying how it is.
BTW – there is still a hardcore who play a fair bit of squad rush most nights… every single time we get 2 players or more on our 8 man server it has been full within 5 mins. People should give it a try if they want a quick game with XDC peeps.
I think we need rotation of modes for sure, I know a few people who dont like HC mode and wont play on our server, this is the difference between trying to seed our server and playing wth 8 people for 2 hours
Can we all agree a timesdays that the server will be HC and normal mode?
Let me add my 2p.
Ignoring the hardcore v gaycore thing for a sec.
1. The initial hype has unfortunately died down, I have noticed a huge change in the number of servers that are populated today compared to back in November.
2. Having the Karkland maps on rotation is maybe not the best to populate the server. I think the appeal of that map pack (in the long term) is limited to BF2 vets, plus we’re limited to only having 4 different maps in rotation, 2 of which play and look very similar to one and other.
3. Back when we were getting good numbers on the server, we (XDC players) were getting the server up and running at around 6pm most nights. I personally log in around this time, and lately there has been maybe at most 3 of us all on different servers.. Lets just get the XDC one up and running early!
4. The way we present our server in Battlelog needs to be looked at. E.g some text that clearly states that our server is “anything goes” within reason, that it’s admin’d, that we have a mix of maps and game modes. (maybe add a couple more rush maps in rotation).
5. We can all be more pro-active in getting non-XDC in our friends list onto the server early on. I notice there are a few Hussars that are on almost all the time (Blackadder, Sheriff90 etc..) Also, a few of the CwG guys are usually floating about early evening.
Meh, I used to play a fair bit but if I’m totally honest, I can’t really be bothered with hardcore. When I do occasionally play these days, it’s very rarely on our server, unless it’s fully populated. I’ve only been on once in the last month just to play and have fun, rather than trying to film some FRAPS footage for my whoring on youtube.
The worst thing is that people only seem to join TS after they have seen the server is full, and going to join a different server rather than checking on TS to see if other people are around and sticking around if they’re not, every night I get on to battlelog, see three or more people on three or more different servers AND NOT ONE OF THEM ON TS, so I have to join a server and tell them in text chat to join TS, which they often miss.
Get in, log onto battlelog, log onto TS, arrange a game on our server.
everyone has admin access if they want it but there are some things to check on the server settings if you change them
1) player round start should be set to 2 as should player round restart
2)server name should be chnaged from B2K to Vanilla or whatever (always include 2p start)
3)maps should be all vanilla OR all B2K, a mix will kick us of the quick join lists.
4) heck the other threads to see if I’ve missed anything, need help feel free to ask, I’m usually on TS
5) if I’m on TS with the mic muted, it usually means I’m watching tv in my room, shout me, if I hear you over the sound of franctic masturbation, i’ll grab a tissue and wipe up and get online, it might take me a couple of minutes to respond though….
the server is fine but as a demonstration of the waning interest in this game, for the first time since the beta I’ve been online and no one in my friends list is online, never mind playing.
You need more friends!
Always got friends on, 9 playing now .. and I dont buy this Ball and Cocks about the game waning interest, the servers I frequent because no one is on ours are rammed, I’m 4th in a fucking queue on one server! Infantry only mind
