I posted a video about a year ago which showed a pretty ridiculous killstreak as SMG infiltrator on Miller (as NC), and it’s proven pretty popular on my youtube channel so I’ve finally gotten around to a new installment. Most XDC who play PS2 have probably seen it already, but given that Crazy Hippo has been on with us recently and saying that his problem is often knowing what is going on in this game, the comments in this video might be useful to anyone else interested.

Still hoping we can get more XDC interested in this game as I reckon we’d be unstoppable with a full squad. Just last night, Matt, myself and a random managed to turn up to a fight that didn’t involve our faction (Vanu), Stop the Terran from attacking the NC base by taking out 2 of heavily armoured spawn points and waves of enemies and then when finished, take the base for ourselves, all the while against 2 teams of superior numbers.
A full XDC squad could sway any fight with enough co-ordination.
I am slowly getting the hang of things, but it will take a while before i feel comfortable with it.
as a result i am enjoying it more but still have trouble identifying the different classes and vehicles

You’ve no idea Max, took a while for me to get into it but it’s far more involving than BF3 ever was. There is no “top of the scoreboard on the server”, you measure yourself by how big a fight you and your squad can handle. It feels far better to face and beat 3-5 times your number through close teamwork and good comms than it does to top a server scoreboard in a BF game.
And for you specifically, there are so many flags, once you cap all the flags, you can go to the next base for more flags, no need to wait for a new game 🙂

Sadly there’s no substitute to just playing through the learning curve, and honestly every one of us has had to do it, regardless of any coaching i’ve tried to give.
We’ve hit on a formula which works for most of us playing VS on cobalt, and we’re in a position now where previous critics like Ben are now trying to actually sell the game! It doesn’t work for everyone mind you, but it’s really hardcore what we’re trying to do with our squads and that makes it very difficult at times to keep everyone happy, especially when the population on the server is not offering us options.
Try the game with us more during the week though, as weekends are very iffy atm, sometimes good, sometimes like yesterday. When we can all cope with the big clusterfucks on offer on days like Sunday, we will be unstoppable, but right now we’re a league below that…..yet a league above everything else.
Also Max, you had a good run one night with me pissed as fuck, and then told me you enjoyed a follow up the next day as you advanced along a lattice lane…. If you enjoyed that advance, you have no fucking idea about this game yet, you need to link up with our squad when we’re dropping 4 or 5 guys in on top of 48 enemies, and just seeing how long we last, or holding a flag against a never ending stream of players who pull shotguns, maxes, and vehicles, and whatever other “force multiplier” is required to shift us. There is NO better feeling for us that beating those odds!
the only problem with the game is the max’s and thats because everyone shouts on TS “OMG its Max” and all i think is MadMax is inbound 🙂
Just what I thought when i tried ps2… had to go back to desktop to see if maxine actually was on ts but couldnt see him on the list so was like what ever this “MAaaaX” is…he must be equal to xdcmadman himself… well he kind of is… thank god hes back in bf4 😆
