New starship trooper film, first one i thought was awesome!! the second one – i wont even speak of, terrible, but anothers coming out, hopefully, wont be like the second, has the same lead (Rico) as first.

Do doctors refer to patients as ‘awesome’?
Wife: “Doctor, after that awful accident, can you tell me my husband’s condition?”
Doctor: “Yes, you’re husband is currently ‘awesome’ but hopefully by the end of the day he’ll be ‘sick’ or possibly ‘radical’.
Wife: “Erm… What does that mean…?”
Nurse: “Doctor! Come quick! Mr Smiths status has changed to ‘leet’ and we’re worried that he might become ‘totally wicked’!
Doctor: “That’s awesome nurse Jones, that’s awesome to the max.”
etc.

Yes we do use such lingo…. it helps keep us down with the kids and aids rapport building 😀 I have also been known to use the word ‘sweet’ in relation to a patients progress 🙂
Talking about doctors communication skills – I’m reminded of a story (hopefully apocryphal – but knowing the surgeon involved Im not sure that it isnt true) of a guy going to an outpatients clinic in Dundee when I was there to be told
“I have some good news and some bad news for you.”
“Ok doctor – whats the good news?”
“Well the good news is the test results are back and we now know whats wrong with you…… the bad news is….. its terminal.” 🙄
