    Hi guys, I’m looking to upgrade my computer and I wonder if you guys could help in suggesting what I should get. Also if I should buy a new computer altogether. What I want from my computer is to be able to make quality films on it (I’m working towards a future in the Film Industry) and for the programs to run smoothly. My budget is a grand in Limey Money.

    just tell us if it has a switch not how its bloody brain works!
    seriously I couldnt be arsed to read down that. All Im interested in is what spec you have with regards to ram, motherboard, proccessor and (with regards to film) most importantly graphics card. Also ,of course, plenty of hard drive space and firewire connections on your motherboard if you are going to work with DV

    All we need to know is

    Cpu
    Ram
    G/card
    H/drive
    S/card
    M/board

    With any image prossesing its down to getting as much ram as possible, but since your after vid editing, cpu and g/card come into play.

    Oh and a very good TFT, as your going to be looking at it for very long periods.

    if you are really serious then 2 monitors is very usefull with editing progs such as premiere pro
