Watched this the other night and it was pretty enjoyable for an independent. Set in 1983 where a 12 year old kid is being bullied and gets taken under the wing by some skinheads. It shows that not all skinheads are the same as the stereotypical idea an outsider has of them. Anyway its a nice bit of nostalgia especially for me as I was the kids age in 1983.
Worth a watch. Not a feelgood film tho 😉
Exactly what sPUNKer said.
Shane Meadow’s dialogue is brilliant. It shows how Ska came from Jamaica but how racism got mixed up with the skinheads through the prism of a small group of friends. Very nostalgic if you are our age and rehabilitates ‘good’ skins from the rascist twats to an extent. As the man said: “Not a feelgood film” but definitely worth spending 90 minutes on.
