Well the first of my handy posts for you all 😛 I found out the hard way now you won’t have to 😀
Legend:
1/1 It’s worth your 1/1 unlock points ..
1/1 It sucks but you need it to get a better unlock/not bad but not good value for money.
0/1 Don’t waste your time untill you got everything else first….At a glance:
Recon 5/8 1/8 2/8 Titan defence pimp
Assault 4/8 2/8 2/8 All round assault pimp
Engineer 7/8 1/8 0/8 Ground defence pimp
Support 5/8 2/8 1/8 Support ….Recon
APM (Claymore) 1/1
Practically Essential 😀 Pretty much a damned good offensive and defensive weapon, great for the titan consoles because people have to go there so they have to run into them, the only downside being blind ass retards on your own team are too stupid to see the big red X hence 400 tk’s …
DysTek Hi-Scope x4 1/1
An essential if you plan on doing a lot of sniping – the standard zoom is fine but with this you can either snipe longer distances or improve your accuracy for a headshot at medium ranges. On the downside if you have it on full zoom and someone comes in close, you’re fucked – had you not zoomed in fully you probably could have killed them…
Gruber 5 Stabilizer 0/1
As nice as it would be to stabilise the sniper scope because it does move an awful lot, it really didn’t seem to work and it really didn’t seem worth the 1 point of unlock.. any competant sniper would be fine without it.
Zeller-H Advanced Sniper Rifle 0/1
I was quite chuffed when I got this but after some use I’ve not really noticed any difference over the standard rifle except it has less ammo per clip. Also it can’t shoot to destroy expacks/claymores unlike the standard EU Moretti SR-4 Sniper Rifle… again hold off getting this as it’s not really worth the unlock point.
RDX DemoPak (Expacks) 1/1
Another Recon essential – 101 uses from defending the titan corridoors to taking out enemy armour – the only downside being if you intend to plant it on a vehicle be warned; if you even blink at it you will probably die, so try stay a metre away and throw them onto it… Remember it takes 2 expacks to blow a tank and 3 expacks to blow an enemy titan console. It also in theory should take 2 expacks to blow commander toys, but quite often it can take 3. Try to plant them on the stationary parts of the commander toys such as the base as it seems to do a tad less damage on the moving parts (ie: spinning radar dish).
NetBat Fade Delay 1/1
Initially this may not seem too usefull… but if you cop a glimpse of someone and they run around a corner, the red square stays long enough for you to see which way they’re heading next through the wall so you know where to shoot. Even better everyone in your squad gets the buff off you through the network 😀
IT-33 (Cloak) 1/1
It’s honestly nowhere near as good as I’d like it to be. You’re invisible enough to not be seen as a soldier but because of the distortion field you’re practically visible as a blob anyway…. Added to that the support’s netbat lets them spot cloakers easier and practically everyone is support and their sentry guns see you cloaked, the result is the cloaker gets thoroughly shafted. That’s not to say it can’t come in handy though – a cloaker on the PAC team on Fall of Berlin could have a better chance at getting past the rapeing to cap rear flags. Also you will be needing the Lambert Carbine for the close range stuff and you can’t get it without this so go ahead and pick it up.
Lambert Carbine 1/1
Unless you fancy pistol whipping everyone and keeping your sniper rifle on a big assault, you’re going to need something more suited for close range combat to kick some ass. This gun is not the best but if you’re carefull you can get 3 kills with 1 clip, but usually will only get 1 – 2. For some reason even though the gun isn’t as powerful as the assault weapons, it can blow an enemy titan console in 3 clips where as an assault has to practically use every clip in his pistol, rifle and shotgun to get the job done…
Assault
Herzog AR-Shotgun 1/1
To be honest it’s not really that fantastic – you only get 3 shots per clip, but I guess that’s because of the smaller size of the weapon. If it had more rounds it could be better as it can take 2 shots for a kill… the downside is if you miss you’re fucked. In addition if you get 10 kills with this they don’t count as shotgun kills so you can’t get your shotgun pin…. I’d say avoid really but this unlock is compulsory for the Netbat system….
NetBat Infantry ID 1/1
It lets you see what class your enemy are playing as. You may not initially think it’s too usefull, at least not for you solo, but the information is networked to all your squadmembers too and if you know your classes, you will know if you have a chance to kill them or not or if you’re in armor if you have to fear being blown up by the guy dancing around your rear hehehe. May not be 100% worth it for the Lone Wolf, but for the team player it will benefit those around you too.
PK-74 AR-Rocket (Rocket Launcher) 0/1
Utter crap. Avoid. Like the shotgun but with rockets, it sounds cool, but the rockets literally have no blast radius so you can’t really splash damage anything… The only real use is for a single shot kill on medium range infantry – but even then it only works if no one is moving…
Baur H-AR 0/1
I tried to love this gun. Really I did…. it has a nice amount of damage when you hit something, but it seems to randomly change which range it’s good at. Sometimes at close range it’s godly, othertimes you have more chance of hitting someone miles away than inches from your face…. I’ll put some more time on this to see if it changes my mind but you’re best off getting the Voss and unlocking this later, the standard SCAR rawks anyway!!
AED-6 Defibrilator 1/1
Essential for what should be obvious reasons – revive your fallen comrades! This comes in exceptionally handy if someone volunteers to do claymore clearance – a pal runs into the claymores then you revive them and the path is clear. Because they were just critically wounded and never died, they don’t get a death on their stats so no purple heart, though the claymore spammer still gets the kill.
Advanced Med Hub 1/1
The standard hub is complete and utter shite, this is only marginally better. It still takes you nigh on forever to heal someone and will rarely get you a healing point but atleast it’s not as slow as the other and you can heal in vehicles too. You’ll need this to unlock the Voss…
SG-34 Grenade (Smoke Grenade) 1/1
I’d really like to say avoid this, but again it’s another crappy mandatory unlock for you to get something decent. The only thing I’ve really used it for regularly is when assaulting titan consoles it marginally helps mask your approach, but usually you get ‘nade spammed/drone gunned and die anyway….
Voss L-AR 1/1
It doesn’t do as much damage as the Baur but has the added advantage of actually being able to hit something!! I’m not 100% sure whether it is actually better or not than the default SCAR… it does seem more accurate but the SCAR can do more damage, if you’re reasonably accurate it’s a good gun but if you like to spray and pray at close range the SCAR could possibly be better.
Engineer
AE Defuser 1/1
This would be another thing on my list to avoid if it wasn’t required to get a better unlock… Seriously there is no need for it. If you see a claymore you can do a few things: avoid it and take another route, jump over/around it or wait for some noob to walk into it and clear the way past. The sneaky bastard claymores you can’t see, well you can’t defuse them and they were destined to kill you anyway. If you want anti-recon stuff you need another Recon as they can just snipe the explosives and they disappear with the Moretti SR-4….
NetBat Vehicle ID 1/1
As always the NetBat stuff is essential for the team player but it is handy to know what vehicles are, but saying that if you just opened your bloody eyes you can recognise the things anyway so… hmm…
PDS-1 (Vehicle RADAR) 1/1
This has great potential to be an effective tool but during my time as commander I noticed an annoying bug – when this does it’s area scan and the commander does the UAV, if the circles overlap this overrides the UAV completely so you can only spot vehicles and not infantry too. If you’re defending a flag stick it nearby though and you can see when vehicles are approaching – also a handy tip is to stick it on your own vehicle, it goes wherever you drive and you have an idea when enemy vehicles are sneaking up on you!! If you stick it on your gunship, when you get into a dogfight you know where the enemy gunship is and which way theyre heading which helps you get the edge. As I found out tonight, if you stick it onto an enemy vehicle it will continue to broadcast it’s current position and the position of vehicles around it, so quite a handy place to stick it!!
Koenig H-AVR (Anti-Tank) 1/1
God I fucking love this gun. This is a must!! Thanks to Max’s vents linky if you pop a round of 1 of these into a vent you can practically kill any armoured vehicle in 1 shot …. I was most impressed when I was in an APC getting raped, I podded out, flew behind the walker, ran between it’s legs and aimed for it’s rectum – Kaboom! It’s also not too shabby against infantry if you snipe with it and get your aim right 8) 100% better than the Default Anti-tank weapons BY FAR!! Also, if you’re attacking titan consoles it’s 3 shots to destory them.
II-14 EMP (EMP Mines) 1/1
When I first used these I thought they were wank. In the beta, tanks also had a permanent shield and this would pop the shield so you can fire a missile at the body….but in retail they just stop them dead in their tracks for a moment. On it’s own it’s not too good, but when combined with floating mines, you stopped them dead now the floaters can make em dead 😀 Without EMP mines, it’s possible to drive right through a group of floaters and they won’t be able to blow because you’re too fast, in combo with this, they’re fucked 😀
DysTek Repair v2.0 1/1
It helps you repair longer and faster which is always good, so atleast now you have a remote chance of getting a repair point. Also if you’re in a vehicle it will repair nearby vehicles. A must… Also note that it’s easy to tell if the titan guns need repairing – above the console a green icon indicates the gun is funcitonal but may be damaged and a red X means the turret has been destroyed and needs repairing. You will only get a repair point if someone is sat in the console at the time though….
II-29 Motion Mine (Floating mines) 1/1
Once on a titan the engineer will suck hardcore, but on the ground with these the engineer is a god amongst men. Big fucking gun to kill tanks with and mines to kill anything that gets past him…. there is no other weapon or class better at defending on the ground than an engineer with these…. Someone takes a risk and jeeps it to a distant flag … they park up next to it to cap it and NEEER they’re dead! Some flaghopper hops through flags in a transport ship… they land here, NEEER! They’re dead!! Best used in combination with EMP mines to stop moving targets, but if placed strategically (ie: where someone will park) they can still do some damage on their own.
Mitchell SAAW 86 (Anti-Air) -/-
This was the last unlock I’ve got so I’ve not really tested it yet, but Erratic-Space seems to love it maybe he could say something more about it?
Easy Mode (Support)
V5 EMP Grenade 1/1
In all honesty I never really liked the EMP grenade but I’ve been in armour and ground to a halt because the support dropped himself an ammo crate and kept spamming these out repeatedly whilst rearming himself…. maybe they should change it so a support can’t rearm himself =/ Kinda lame but not without their use. As commander I EMP infantry more than vehicles as it makes their HUD all screwy, but as infantry you may as well throw in a frag and kill them instead of blind them….
NetBat Active Camo ID 1/1
It makes the cloakers have a slightly smoky tint so they’re just that little bit easier to spot. As with all netbat stuff an essential for the team player, but giving the nature of this particular buff it’s also handy for the lone wolf.
A12 Enforcer Sentry Gun 1/1
People claim claymores are lame because they can get 1 kill on the sly … this is much lamer as it can get several kills and just keep on going. Very handy for defence as it takes 3 DIRECT hits with a grenade to kill, a metre or so off and you won’t have enough grenades to do the job. You can kill it by shooting it, but 9/10 it’s in a good defensive position so even attempting to shoot it will just get you skullfucked. I personally like to use it when defending the titan in those holes in the roof people fall down – plant 1 there with a shield to block people running past and they fall into a hail of bullets hehehehe. Practically a must.
Ganz HMG 0/1
Another prime example of an unlock gun not being as good as the standard. It can do more damage per shot, but you can rarely ever hit anything – you’re much better off with your standard gun – I used this gun for 50 hours then eventually gave up on it…. AVOID.
IPS Shield 1/1
Another essential once you’ve got the sentry gun. If you’re running somewhere and getting shot in the back chuck 1 down, hop over it then hide behind it hehe you’ll be surprised how well it works. They’re also handy for creating traps by blocking people into a room so your sentry gun can munch on them. Also if you’re attacking the enemy titan and you plant it right infront of the enemy spawn shield, they can’t run through the shield to come kick your ass -_- Small arms fire will just be laughed off but if you use anti-tank weapons they will pop in 1 shot. I’ve also found that if you spot a claymore, throw 1 of these infront of it, then step behind the shield. The claymore will blow but the shield will absorb the damage, leaving you free to carry on 😉
Advanced Ammo Hub 1/1
Seriously it’s too easy as it is to get ammo giving points, medics have to bring someone back from the brink of death and take all day to do it to get 1 healing point but for an ammo giving point all someone needs to do is throw a grenade… =/ This lets you rearm faster and also rearm from vehicles…
PDD-200 (Infantry RADAR) 1/1
In general use it’s not too usefull … by the time you spot an enemy they’re already beating your eyes… but for the team player in a squad on the titan defending or assaulting if the support guy just kept spamming this he could be a mobile UAV – shouldn’t have to worry as the sentry gun and team mates will cover your back.
Clark 15B (Shotgun) 1/1
Return of the king 🙂 I love shotguns no matter what game I play on so I am biased haha. 1 shot kills is always nice though on players with normal body armour and 2 shots on heavy armour, tho sometimes even 1 if you’re close enough. It’s a lot more usefull when used defensively though as people are forced to be in close spaces – usually when you’re assaulting the enemy are some distance away and you’re dead before you can get in close. All in all a nice weapon and a much better alternative than the Ganz.
### REM ###
The engineer has more useable items and is the king of ground defence, but remember once onboard the titan will rapidly start to suck, the recon is much better at titan defence with claymore/expack spamming, but both need support so they can be rearmed. The assault is naturally good for attacking as you can revive fallen comrades to keep the attack going at full strength… and the suppport has a big fucking gun, can spam ammo points here and there and has a pet turret to get more kills for them too so they’re pretty much at home anywhere.
You’re best off unlocking the class which interests you the most first then going on to unlocking all the player abilities before you start spreading points around different classes – the player abilities, although minor changes make the biggest difference into how effective you will be. You will be able to run faster, regen quicker, have more pistol ammo and have grenades, they will help your class of choice kick sooo much more ass 😀 For example with the run faster ability + light armour, no one will be able to outrun you as you slip your knife into their backs!! 😈
The squadleader unlocks – the drones sound cool but they’re mostly useless and make the squadleader easier to spot thus more likely to get shot – then where will you respawn? Best off sticking to the spawn beacon only….
Hope you enjoy my tips so far – took me nearly 3 hours (with edits) to write -_- More stuff to come for other aspects of the game but for now I need to rest and eat 😈
Also if you actually hunt for the medals, ribbons and badges they will help you get your unlocks so much more quickly!!

November 4, 2006 at 3:17 pm #38137XDC wild egg tamerParticipantnice info legit…….i agree about the stabiliser on the sniper…notice fuck all difference with or without it to be honest………..i keep pressing other keys in the hope it may do something.
November 4, 2006 at 3:57 pm #38138AnonymousParticipantIIRC you have to press the shift key to get it to work, but really you can still snipe well without it.
November 4, 2006 at 4:37 pm #38139XDCiNSANEParticipantNice post legit
I’d have put the effort into emailing a bird in order to get fooked though lol 😉
Seriously though whould come in handy.. where you find it? 😀
November 4, 2006 at 4:39 pm #38140AnonymousParticipantI wrote it from my experiences ya bugger!! Even went tot he trouble of editing out my typos and color coordinating the unlock responses – green for go for it and red for stay the fuck away 😯
November 4, 2006 at 5:06 pm #38141Mr.FenixParticipantGummy Bear, you are a star. I have to choose some unlocks now and I haven’t got a clue!

November 4, 2006 at 5:48 pm #38142AnonymousParticipantJust updated it with an intermediate colour into the scheme so things are not either good or bad, but also in between and put my conclusions at the top so it’s easier to see which class has the most useable unlocks at a glance. Also just added the proper weapon names and when necessary something more approapriate next to them. Also put a few extra tips on some of the classes…. Glad to see you’re making use of it already too 😉 Sticky ❓
November 5, 2006 at 10:15 am #38143XDC wild egg tamerParticipantthis should be made a sticky in here, a helpful guide by the raving loon that is Legit……. 😉 we love ya really matey 😀
November 5, 2006 at 12:32 pm #38144LensmanParticipantGood info Legit. Thanks.
November 5, 2006 at 12:33 pm #38145To0THBRU5HParticipant“PK-74 AR-Rocket (Rocket Launcher) 0/1”
I find these very useful. Use it at about 30 metres range to take out infantry holed up in defensive positions, or even better in the corridors in the Titans. Firing off 3 rockets wiped out everyone defending one of the consoles, easiest 4 kills I ever got! Also takes out the engineers defence shield!

Funny, I keep having the feeling I am shootinh “through” people with it.
Used to spam it down the corridors in the Titan, but not really effective thoughNovember 5, 2006 at 1:23 pm #38147XDCiNSANEParticipanthmm mixed feelings about that weapon.. It goes through buildinds i have noticed.. If enemy’s are under cover say on a verander *spelling* I’d expect me to fire at the wall above em so it detonates and kills.. but it just goes through the buildings.. very annoying
but it has it uses as Tooth says with a pack of troops
November 5, 2006 at 7:22 pm #38148crazy hippoParticipantthe assault rockets are distance detonated. they are some of the best weapons in the game.
to use. right click to bring up the scope while aiming at what you want to hit. you will see the distance meter in the middle of the screen. use the mouse wheel to increase or decrease the range. then fire the rockets. they will detonate at the distance you set it to.
so if some bugger is hiding behind a wall at 20 metres, aim at the wall, right click, scroll up the distance to 22 metres then aim just above the wall and fire. the bugger behind the wall is now dead.
November 5, 2006 at 9:31 pm #38149LensmanParticipantGood info Hippo – actually sounds like a really useful unlock. But honestly, how the hell is your typical player going to know this? AFAIK it ain’t in the manual, and I assume not in the online training/nagging either otherwise people would have commented on it.
And are there any oher undocumented ways of using weapons properly?
I need all the help I can get….. 😉
