Thinking of selling my 19` Samsung monitor (think I can get £100 for it), my pda (£170 ish) and then using some birthday money to get a 24` screen… was just wondering which one is better:

or

The Samsung is both cheaper and has a lower response time… and has a different contrast ration – but I have no clue what that does.
I also have huge brand loyalty to Samsung, as this current monitor is hot shit… what do you guys thing?
August 15, 2007 at 12:07 pm #56575XDCiNSANEParticipantDell or me no question 🙂
Saying that though, I dnt think you can go wrong with either.. Sammys are shit hot too.. but Dell for me
August 15, 2007 at 12:11 pm #56576XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantWell maybe I’m biased, but the Dell has a nicer picture on it.
August 15, 2007 at 12:42 pm #56577crazy hippoParticipanti had the exact same question as you Turks about a month ago.
i initially ordered the samsung but while i was waiting for it to be released i changed my mind and went for the Dell. the main factor for me was the lack of inputs on the samsung.
i am extremely happy with the Dell and i doubt that i would be any happier with the samsungAugust 15, 2007 at 1:37 pm #56578AnonymousParticipantCH – if you wouldn’t be happier with the Samsung, maybe youcould be equally happy, if not close? Especially as it’s a tad cheaper 8) I’d personally go for the Samsung myself, they have their shit together and always do top notch stuff whilst typically Dell are ok; their support Isn’t always as nice, fast and free as they make out.

yeah but i can plug my 360 and ps3 into my monitor as i cant use our TV or the missus will go nuts. she just about let me plug the Wii into our main tv. also the dell has a card reader on it which the samsung doesnt have, and seeing as i dont have a card reader on my pc it was another factor for me.
August 15, 2007 at 2:09 pm #56581XDCiNSANEParticipantNo contest in my eyes.. you get what you pay for.. and in Dell you dont get any better with there 24″ monitors
August 15, 2007 at 2:42 pm #56582XDCsPUNKerParticipantI have a Samsung 22″ and thought it was Ok then I bought a Samsung 40″ HD TV and use that as a monitor instead. 😈

Oooo… I was going to get it to add other things like that too… so the Samsung cant support that?!
Well there you go then!
August 15, 2007 at 2:56 pm #56584TurksMeisterParticipantWas just wondering… does anyone use their monitor for work? Just wondering what it would be like to swap over to widescreen… as I am used to … err… square screen.
And if I ever get back to playing games… will the graphics on my 9800 pro look shit because the screen is bigger?
I wish I had £3000 to spend instead!
August 15, 2007 at 4:48 pm #56585XDCiNSANEParticipantI’m having this “TRUE” HD TV soon.. none of this Fake shit for me lol 🙂

August 15, 2007 at 5:02 pm #56586XDCsPUNKerParticipantIf you are going to use it as a monitor also I would recommend it being true HD for the propper res. I work witht this TV screen hence why I havent set it up as a normal TV. Its really difficult to go back to the 22″ as it just looks so incredibly small. Mike this is a great TV. Very sexy looking and great colour and def. I’d Love a 52″ but I just havent got the space 😉
August 15, 2007 at 5:08 pm #56587TurksMeisterParticipant37` monitor?! You fucking with me? Thats bigger than our main TV in the lounge by 9inches…
Dont think I could cope with anything that big… Dad’s just bought a 26` tv for his study, and it looks way too big to be a monitor.
I also suffer from “lack of space” and lack of cash syndrome… think I will be sticking with the 24
