Windows XP Licence validation – a bargain at £92. Bought meself a valid licence. It wont be long before those naughty versions of XP will start to get disabled, so grab yourself a deal! Remember XP Pro is something like £250.

July 4, 2006 at 1:20 pm #28735GoNz0Participantwell, no WGA crap on my PC, i unticked the checkbox to install it.
what you can’t see can’t hurt you..choose inform me of updates but do not install, then auto update works and you can choose not to install WGA as its listed as a update.
so far all attempts by M$ to enforce legal copies is easy to work around..
based on that im not paying 🙂
might treat myself to vista though when its out ?
July 4, 2006 at 1:42 pm #28736LensmanParticipantI agree with Max, and rather by spooky coincidence did this only this morning before seeing this post.
If you only paid £80, I’m guessing it is either not legit or you actually got an upgrade from W2k/Win9x. If not, then well done!!
July 4, 2006 at 1:48 pm #28737XDCiNSANEParticipantOEM Version mate from Scan 🙂
July 4, 2006 at 2:19 pm #28738LensmanParticipantFair enough, but only valid for the PC which you brought with it.
If you purchased it separately from any hardware, then technically it is an illegal copy.
July 4, 2006 at 2:27 pm #28739XDC MadHippyParticipantfrom scan….
PLEASE NOTE : The OEM agreement for Microsoft OEM SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION.

July 4, 2006 at 3:13 pm #28740xdc magickerParticipantjsut download the validation bypass patch
July 4, 2006 at 3:20 pm #28741WipersParticipantThank God for volume licensing 😉 😀
Gonzo – you will probably need to install WGA in order to run Windows Update in the future. Thats how they will play it – no security updates.
Think of the £92 as your charitable act for this year. After all its all profit for Microsoft which means more $$$ in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation thingy which is doing lots in Africa to sort out Malaria/HIV etc.
July 4, 2006 at 3:53 pm #28742GoNz0Participanthopefully there will still be SP2 round up’s posted around the net..
