Gonzo will you be putting Beeltes mod onto the server for us?

Also will we be allowed HLstatsX ranking software on the TF2 server?

MPUK said we werent allowed it as would be problems for them and to use a better ranking software! as its a Daemon that needs to be running on the webserver.

I then went on one of the public MPUK servers the other day and they have installed HLstatsX on it! the two faced buggers!

Insane what is better about the Razor DeathAdder?

As I have been looking at the G5 mouse as it looks very good and then the rats guys said that the razor mice are best. The deathadder is probably the one I like the most out of them.

Razor one seems cheaper too £38 vs £50.

I guess this just goes to show what commercial pressures do.

I will have to give this a try, but how would you compare it to the Desert Combat mod that they previously made? Better or Worse?

Yeah heard about this map. sounds like it is quite good and have played it in UT. Bit of a problem with snipers and scouts or something some people were saying though

Ok I finally found the mic boost option.

It only exists on the creative mixer (not on windows control panel stuff anywhere) and basically on the volume control for mic channel playback there is a little + that you can click and there is a little menu item called 20DB mic boost. clicked that and the pick up is a bit better now.

Nothing in the help about it either, its all about setting up your speakers and playback it seems, hardly any help on sound input and recording!

But should be in business now.

    lol!

    I have one probelm though

I am having major problems with the microphone input. it has no power in it at all.

The only way people can hear me on TS is if i practically have the mic boom on the headset in my mouth.

This is with the mic part plugged into the mic 3.5 socket on the back of the sound card.

I had the same problem with the onboard sound on this motherboard and thought it was something specific to that, but it seems not.

My old motherboards onboard sound worked perfectly no such problems!

Now I was a bit bad and never reinstalled windows when changhing my m/b cpu etc and so probably the original sound drivers never got uninstalled properly, but i got the new onboard drivers installed ok and working. Then i uninstalled and then disabled the onboard sound device on this current motherboard before installed the creative soundcard and its drivers.

one thing that is wierd is that the mic boost tick box in windows disappeared. i am planning on reformatting at the weekend as may be its just gone a bit cock eyed with the changes and no reformat.

    what do you guys think?

Well I have given up installing Vista for some of the reasons you mention there.

Also this new XP service pack looks good.

Also I ran into a load of problems trying to install the os and messed up my bios settings somehow degrading my gfx card settings lol.

So I am going to stick with XP for now

    Found the problem.

The heatsink clips have come lose! wtf it was a bastard to install the dam HSF to start with.

I mean whoever came up with the socket 775 HSF mounting design needs to be shot!

Bring back the Socket 478 HSF mounting design, two big levers that you push down and your done. easy peasy!

anyway remounted the HSF again and cpu temps back down to ilding at 19’c until the next time!

probably a good idea phart as we dont have the web hosting sorted out yet and getting it all set up on the new host may cause us to not have a server for a short while lol.

I am not having any problems with our servers but my IP is 86.13.172.168 and I have turned on the WAN ping response on my router
