Having looked at various ways to get to scotland from the south coast this summer and last i have to agree with the car rental idea (if you can drive ect,) as public transport over long distance is shite. Coachs take too long, you’ll have to sell a kidney to fund a train trip and i’ve yet to find those 50p internal flights i keep hearing about.

Once again ignore if neither of you can drive… borrow a friend/families car and get insured on a daily basis, it cost my misus £21 for the day to drive a family members car down from manchester and she’s a shockingly bad driver!
