ParticipantI recently got a HTC Hero which I really like. Runs on Andriod OS and uses Google Market (Same as iPhone App Store) but 99.9% of all apps are free..:D

ParticipantWell you can bin me from the team if you wanna and give my slot to someone else who adds more to The Ringers. To be honest it’s all getting a bit too serious for me and the fun element which is what it was when the team was first setup has disappeared like my goal and win ratio. ๐

Keep it simple, pass and move, you witnessed some of the best goals scored last neet when you pass and move ๐
Ditto.

perhaps we all need to take a chill pill….or alternatively why not set up 2 teams….1 for those who are in it to win it…..and one for those who play to take part and dont mind getting tonked ?? just a thought ?
I quite like this idea. A non serious non competitive team who couldn’t give a toss about the results so long as they had a bit of a giggle doing so, and a more competitive team that are more focused on the win, the stats, and climbing the rankings.
As I said last night, sometimes The Ringers can get a little too intense and want to play beautiful football all the time and beat the crap out of the opposition nothing wrong with that at all but sometimes I just wanna have a game, have a laugh, and take the piss out of some of the duff moves ( we have had plenty to choose from from the last few days with yours truly being the main instigator ๐ณ ) we make trying to turn over the opposition. After all it’s a game that should be fun, if it gets to the point when every time you play it is pisses you off then maybe it’s times to play a different game?
I’ll admit last night was one of those moments when we were getting our arses handed to us and no matter what we did we kept getting beat. It wound me up a bit so I though fuck it , rather than letting it get to me I turned it off and played something else.

Works good without it. Stops alot of camping, no dolphin diving, and the gameplay is way more aggressive
Makes seeking cover from tanks a bit more difficult surely? I guess if it’s a tweak to balance/help the overall gameplay though, then I can live without it ๐
I actully agree with the Manc Mincer for once ๐ the no prone makes playing sniper a little more tactical in terms of where you take up your position. You do need to find proper cover instead of laying behind a single blade of grass and being almost invisible to the enemy unless they accidentally trip over you, or step one of the gazillion claymores you have layed across a 10 mine radius just incase someone happens to see where your shooting from. ๐
You also have to keep moving from your position to keep the enemy guessing, due to ; 1) The kill cam gives you a brief look at your killer and general locale, this will become easier for the victim and harder for the sniper over time as people get more and more familiar with the maps and known sniper spots. 2) Due to the destructable terrain and objects, its no use trying to continually hide behind a wall, crate or other object for too long to protect you from incoming fire as sooner or later your cover will be destroyed by either grenades, RPG’s, Tanks or the UAV so you have no option to keep moving and keep the enemy guessing.
Haven’t played for a few days but plan to get back into it again today or tomorrow. Overall still enjoying the demo although the single map can become a bit monotonous sometimes but still looking forward to full release, more maps and several game modes .

Participant~Well just had a quick round on the MP demo playing the Rush gamemode and all I can say is OMFG!!! Insane you are gonna love this game.
Controls and gameplay pretty much same as previous title however the thing you notice straighaway is the diffence the latest version of the frostbite engine makes to the graphics, simply stunning. Destructable terrain etc was good on the laste one and even better on this one. Most of the weapons are locked on the Demo which you would expect but in the 5 or 10 mins I played this for I have to say I’m really impressed so far….. Now all that left to do is for DICE to screw the final build when it ships to the stores and we have a ‘proper Battlefield’ game on our hands ๐

Participantyeah some good games last night and we were very unlucky to lose the last game 3-2 to the Sugarboyz or whatever there called. Their team rating was nearly 6.5k versus our 2.5k so we did really well to hold our own and only just got beaten.
I really need to work on my pro’s stats a bit more to bring them upto par with some of the others in The Ringers but it will come eventually.

Anyone else thinking about preordering this, and therefore definitely getting in on the beta? i figure I’m getting it anyway, so might as well get in from the start.
Just a word of warning there seems to be an uproar at the moment with regards to pre-orders and early access to the beta. I pre ordered mine through Game for xbox 360 recieved a mail yesterday stating the following:

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your email.
The developer of the game has advised us that the GAME Exclusive one week demo access (due to start on the 28th January) is now no longer available.
However, don’t worry as you will still get a full 3 week access to the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Demo via Xbox Live or The Playstationรยฎ Network from the 4th February 2010.
To access the demo from the 4th February please login to you Xbox Live or PSN account, search for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and follow the download instructions. No code is needed as it is now a public demo. Please keep an eye on our site for future updates.
Unfortunately the ‘Beta Key Access’ codes are no longer being offered with pre-order of this title here at GAME as the BETA has now ended.
Please Note: For technical Support please visit: EA Support
We apologise for any inconvenience this change may have caused. If you have any queries regarding your order please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Regards,
Chris P
The Team at GAMESo either retailers are dangling a carrot to get you to pre order or EA/DICE have misled people in their advertising. As you say not much of a drama for me as I was going to get it anyway but it still takes the piss either way.

ParticipantI probably get it on Xbox main because I can’t afford to spend the money on upgrading PC essentially for one game. Bought BFBC for a tenner the other day just so I can get used to the controls as I’ve found playing FPS games quite a steep learning curve on a console. I suppose once you used to it you’ll be able to hone for skills in the same way as on a PC.
