I did actually watch this the other day only because I went to a mates house and he was watching it (he’s a journalist and I’m fairly sure a bit gay). FYI, it’s awful.
I thought the Hurt Locker was a bit pants TBH, it did very little that Generation Kill did better. I did like the ridiculous cameos of big name actors though.
My point stands though, History isn’t a real subject! 😉
Science teachers have too much to do preparing lessons and resources, can’t concentrate on a film whilst doing risk assessments for the umpteenth time. I know what you history boys are like, swan in, stick on the history channel, fall asleep at the back of class, mutter something about doing an essay, dismiss class (early if you can get away with it).
Teach a proper subject!
You say that but a mate has a TV with ambient lighting and it is actually quite effective, not sure how it would cope with the rapid changes to colour that the games I play tend to have, guess I’d have to try it out.

Hey guys, hate to be a wanker (that’s not true, I love wanking!), but get on TS, these games are so much better with some VOIP action. This applies especially to Mooky who is always on BFBC2 but never on TS! I like to hear all your sultry tones.

install,
open up, go to “connection” (top left) and click “connect”
on the right you will see some boxes to be filled in, the label doesn’t matter, call it what you will, but the second box down “server address” needs to be 85.236.100.27:11337 (anyone else note the irony that the XDC ts server contains 1337 at the end?)
Put in your preffered moniker for the Username”
make sure the “anonymous” radio button is checked for now and uncheck the box saying “allow servers to assign nickname”
The rest should remain blank so just click connect!
(I should point out that mine has not been connecting first time round in the last few days, not sure if it’s my end or not, but it always works on the second attempt!)
Personally I think they have balanced the vehicles alot better then in BF2/42/230547436785438742, the lack of a machine gun for the driver of the tank, the lack of missile guided missiles all make for a more team based play (you need the gunners, no point going solo.)
The unlocks are annoying but an inevitable consequence of any new game in order to keep the interest to the medium/long term, personally I don’t mind, I unlocked a decent amount within a couple of hours and I’m sure there are many more to come.
The problems of the weekend seem to have been resolved on the main, although I have noticed EA online going down more than a few times and the cancelled friend list was a kick in the balls, but no biggy. Snipers can feck off, but at least the unlocks mean that most people will try a diverse range of classes and not stick to just one, and snipers can do a wonderfully useful job of spotting things, especially useful when you’re driving a tank with the slightly irritating washed out view.
Anyway, I’m enjoying the mechanics of the game and the looks of the game, but I am slightly disappointed by the slightly fubared online stability and the squad play, but to be honest that’s the same with most online games, the fun is in the communication and the joint experience. Problem is we’ve all been spoilt over the years by having a great group of people, both XDC and friends, to play with. Pity the poor buggers who play this exclusively on their own!
