agree mugworth, i remember playing that game from when i got in from work right through to 4 or 5 in the morning some friday nights! I used to actually dream about the game ffs, and its not rose tinted thinking, i genuinely enjoyed 42 more than any other BF game since.
I had some great games just messing around with dropkick where i’d be flying and he would be in the apc thing shooting up at me just before i’d drop a bomb on his nut!!! totally awesome.Who remembers morgaine ? awesome pilot and a real babe apparently though i never had it confirmed!
a great idea there Phartski!! I’d even be tempted to take the night off work for some 42 lovin’ on our server! Operation Husky was a fav of mine in the RtR ex-pack.
dear God my missus reads that pile of shite too………….contributing to the 100k+ pay cheques they pay out for photos of inbreds like Jordan’s (or is it Katie Price this week?) and Peter “fucknugget” Andre’s wedding! I don’t blame the so called celebs, i just can’t believe women really want to read that pile of toss!! whats wrong with PC-Format or custom PC ?, get plenty of news in there!
i’m enjoying the game…………love the sniper unlocks, think thats my new favourite class for now, the map loading is fantastic compared to BF2 and the maps are pretty good too.

i turned on the pc this morning, started up as usual a new window appeared asking me to select accept to EA’s new update so i thought nothing of it……..let it install then go and check my forums……..and find this thread!! 😯
ho hum, guess i’ll soon find out if all my game info is corrupt……..though i did get BF2142 on DVD.
Another thing you may want to try ( i used to use this when i used AOHELL for my isp) is to go into task manager and set the priority for BF2142 to high as opposed to normal, when i first got BF42 i constantly got connection problems and the dreaded 1023 ping and the problem was with AOL not supporting online gaming at that time, i remember being a beta tester for a particular version of AOL and it worked great, the next release the damn problem came back! By setting the priority to high it solved the problem for me.
