Well after having stamped my feet and huffed and puffed for a cpl of weeks over this game I am actually beginning to really enjoy it, had a blast last night and apart from the now much rarer ctd really started to get into it. the unlocks also make the game far for entertaining (couldn’t hit a thing with the standard assault rifle beyond 3 feet 😆 ) and the maps, as someone else mentioned, are far more diverse and tactically viable. It also seems to be much more balanced than previous games,although this may change as people become better at specific vehicles etc.
How are the rest of you finding it?
Much more balanced than previous bf games. And I know this is a sore point for some but I really appreciate the lack of air rape in 2142.
If there is a downside to the unlocks its that people haven’t yet learnt how to use them effectively, and also how to work as a team with them. I’m thinking here of taking out enemy APCs and walkers. You need someone to EMP mine/grenade them then another to shove a rocket up their ass/ Detpak them. People are complaining about rape on Fall of berlin but its because no one wants to go engy or support to try and take the apcs/walkers out. I suppose people will eventually figure it out.
I’m still getting CTDs (2 last night), freezes (1 last night) and lag (titan maps with moving titans). My sound crackles with static every so often. I don’t want to lower settings but I may have to face facts that an amd 3800, 2Gb ram, a 7800GT and an X-Fi card just dont cut the mustard anymore 😥 🙁

BTW agreed. with the other comments I actually do like the game (when I get the chance to play it!) my gripe in the other thread is about EA’s lack of common sense not the concept of the game.
anyhoose only difference between you and me Charlie is I have a amd 64×2 4400 and 4 gig (although XP only see’s 3) of ram and the Titan will lag like a bugger if theres more than 10 people down there. I just wish they could get the interiors right with these BF games. Dont forget how much of a lag fest the Iron Gator was!i’m enjoying the game…………love the sniper unlocks, think thats my new favourite class for now, the map loading is fantastic compared to BF2 and the maps are pretty good too.
Late last night on our server there was some really good Titan defense from both teams. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The annoying thing was that after what seemed like an age both defending and attacking in a close game, I crashed out just before the finish and don’t know if my team won or not 🙁
I wish I had thought through the unlocks better. I should have concentrated on fully loading each role I think, rather than got a couple in each. I *really* want that big fuck-off anti-tank gun that Toothy shot me with a couple of days ago.

Run dxdiag and turn your sound accel down to basic. You don’t notice any difference in sound quality…
I used to get random static noises on other games every now and then…. Turn the sound acceleration down to basic and it all stopped.well my ctd have pretty much vanished but that may be a result of not playing on our server much anymore (lag, and mean wtf is the point of playing type lag !!)
Go on a different server and its a different game, far more enjoyable and when you shoot people they die 😯 Love the city maps, some real intense fighting.
I am starting to get convinced now as well, especially the conquest maps are brilliant.
Stiil a lot of ctd’s
major probles with the ranking, I am around 2 promotions overdue, it says 1400 points for next promotion and i am already at 1600.
Furthermore I have a bunch of unlocks I can’t get unlocked, in the unlock screen it doesnt give me anything to actually unlock things 😈
Really enjoying it still. Was quite shocked (amused) to see that having cut my play time down drastrically these last few days I’ve dropped about 2000 places eek!
I’m enjoying getting used to the weapons too. And how sometimes it’s actually better to use the normal gun over the unlocked one. Case in point the Engineer UL is awful against tanks but blinding against anything in the air.
Haven’t been getting many CTDs at all, a lil’ bit of lag sometimes but nothing like what some people seem to get when running about on the titans. Still taking time to learn maps even at this point. Now if only we could play Harbour a bit more!
Now all I need to do is work out how many more XDCers I need for my XDC knife set? *evil laugh*
Any chance of making a sticky at the top of this forum to show people the current map cycle?
