i’m holding onto my N1 for now. The duel cores look good and the quality of footage shot with the HD camera is sweet but expect to see 3D capable cameras soon.

just daftness but i can’t ever recall doing crazy shit like this on the other games with the exception of maybe vietnam.
jeep races on the El-Al map, wing walking and other mad stuff that i think we lost when the reward system came out and peeps were scared of losing points for tk’s………….damn nothing better than blowing up players as they waited patiently to wing walk or have a group pic taken!

It was recorded using fraps i think and was a random game in which i was following mugworth around as well as a few others…

nom, i’m with you mate. What can they do different to BF3 that they haven’t already done with BF2, BFBC2 ? Balance; improved gfx; destructable terrain mk3?
Didn’t they remove prone in one of the recent releases? i mean wtf? Ok, we know it’s not a sim but at least give the character full mobility. If it’s because you can’t solve the arms clipping through walls issue then hire better programmers!
They now see BF42 as a circus piece there only to be used as a filler but have somehow lost sight that it was BF42 that made this series what it is.

best fun ever for me was BF42, the others were good but 42 was the mutz nutz.
Myself and dropkick on the airfield on one of the pacific maps, myself flying around and he shooting at me from the rear of an apc (can’t remember the name of the vehicle) or form the AA – just one constant bombing run.
great game, miss playing it to be honest………vietnam was also good fun but i lost interest with BF2 after a short while and the same goes for 2142.
Now my pc is an old dog and i won’t even attempt to try out BFBC2, family bought me an xbox for my 40th so have a few games to try out on there (including BFBC2) once i move back into my house (hopefully the painting shall be finished in the next week) so my pc gaming days may be at an end unless they ever remake 42. BF3 is yet another modern (and people moaned when WW2 was used a couple of times) which really doesn’t interest me all that much.

I’ve been reading a fair bit on them recently and they seem good. I’ve watched vids on youtube of peeps playing BFBC2 on their 27″ screens at full res and all maxed out with no visible slow down.
If i do get one i’ll wait for the update that is about due on them, hopefully the gfx card will get an upgrade.

My laptop has just spent 6 hours ripping a DVD only to wake up this morning and find that it’s totally unwatchable.
I tried 2 ways: firstly i copied and pasted just the vob files then used handbrake to rip them; end result was it was unwatchable. So i used handbrake to rip directly from the DVD which took about 6 hours! Again unwatchable.
The laptop is only about 4 years old. Originally it had vista on it but it was a pain in the arse. It got to the point it wouldn’t even recognise the DVD drive! I installed XP on to it and it now plays DVDs and seems ok but now i find it can’t rip them.
Why is it my cousins macbook air can do all this with no slow down of other apps, quaility is consistent and it’s only about a year younger than my laptop?
I’ve loved having pc’s but the thought of paying out a lump of cash on one only to have it slow down on me after a year of use is putting me off! I had a BSOD about 4 days after installing XP ffs!
As i’ve said i’m not making my mind up now but if nothing else i’m tempted by the mac if only to try out a different OS and experience myself the “joys” of using an iMac.
