Gary GoatParticipant
Yep really nice to have a medic on hand as we usually don’t. Makes it so much harder to push us off of an objective.
Gary GoatParticipantWhen we ran into them later they had an pretty good infiltrator in the squad who always had a motion spotter down. One of the few times I’ve actually fought against a squad that used it as well as we do and it is really fucking annoying lol
Gary GoatParticipantRe-uploaded it in slightly higher quality and made it public. Might stick it on reddit later.

Gary GoatParticipantIs it worth it?
Gary GoatParticipantJust amazing 😀
Gary GoatParticipantSome nice changes there! Already maxed out my bandolier so might have to drop the nanoweave so i can emp all the things, shame it destorys enemy ammo packs though. The buff to nano armor cloak is also welcome, small change but should make it much harder to track a cloaked infiltrator using it. (aka me :D)
Sadly i wont be online until my internet gets installed next Tuesday
Gary GoatParticipantHonestly, I don’t think its worth it yet. Some of the newer games are using more then 4GB of vram at 4K which is a big problem for the current gen cards as only the titan and some special edition AMD cards have more then 4GB. You’ll also need 2 of them if you want a decent framerate.
Its also hit and miss if a game will actually work well at 4K. Most will let you use that res but a lot of games wont scale the UI so it ends up being so small its unreadable.
Gary GoatParticipantThey’ve said there probably will be a wipe on release but its not 100% definite. I dont think you can get into the beta any more, have to wait for release now which is on the 16th so not too long. I’m using a joystick + keyboard but you can use an xbox controller or just mouse and keyboard. Getting all of the controls mapped to a gamepad might be tricky though, in combat, you need pitch, yaw, roll as well as full directional thrust up down left and right for strafing. You could do the directional thrusters on the left stick and the pitch and roll on the other but that still leaves yaw (maybe on the bumpers or something)
You can mine and there is a friends list but unless you actually join a group together its unlikely you’ll be able to meet up in space. Its basically heavily instanced from what i’ve read so even if you both go to the same place it wont put you in the same instance. It will just randomly throw x amount of people into each instance while keeping groups together.
Bounties are placed on your head per system by the systems local authority for committing illegal acts. I’m really not sure if it can be directly increased by other players but I don’t think it can.
All in all the game engine, flight physics, sound and all of the basics are amazing but game play wise its very barebones. Your goal is just to make money and theres only a few ways to do it really. Mine, trade, bounty hunt (mostly by killing NPCs) and pirating/smuggling. You make money, upgrade your ship, eventually by a better ship so you can make money and upgrade it. Theres no real purpose and the multiplayer elements are not very well implemented in my opinion. The only way to communicate is directly ship to ship, no system wide chat or station chat or anything like that so you cant just start chatting to people in the local area unless you actually run into them. And with 400 billion star systems thats not going to be very likely. Its mostly a single player experience which is a shame.
Gary GoatParticipantI bought it last week but haven’t really been able to play it too much yet. Its pretty good so far though, just flying the ship and jumping between systems is amazing, I’ve not even really been trying to make any money, just trying to figure out how stuff works and exploring.
Gary GoatParticipantNice killstreaks, that betelegeuse looks like an absolute monster!
Gary GoatParticipantHaha this sounds amazing!
Gary GoatParticipantcount me in
Gary GoatParticipantOpen nvidia experience and click the showdowplay button on the top right. A box should pop up with 4 buttons along the bottom. Click the qulity button and set it to custom and another box should pop up with resolution, bit rate and framerate. Mine doesn’t show anything higher then my native res though so maybe it wont work.
Gary GoatParticipant1680×1050? Thats 16:10 where as 1920×1080 is 16:9 so thats what causes the black bars. If you use shadowplay, you can go into the nvidia experiance and chose custom quality and get a resolution drop down box. See if it shows 1080p in there. I think I read somewhere that shadowplay can record at a higher res then your actual in game res but i’m not 100% sure on that.
Gary GoatParticipantMusic wise I mostly listen to rock and indie, don’t mind heavier stuff but just cant stand that kind of high school teen screamy stuff. As for the black bars, they aren’t really an issue but its unusual to see them on youtube vids. Whats your native res?
